Good Value Webcam for WFH?

I bought a MS lifecam 720p to use as my webcam for WFH so I don't have to stare at my laptop all day on teams. However it has a major auto focus issue I've been unable to resolve. Quality is pretty meh as well.

Considering how many hours I spend on teams, it feels worthwhile spending a few extra bucks to get something better quality and more reliable. I'm thinking around the $100 mark. I don't need exceptional, just clear and doesn't have ridiculous issues like auto focus going haywire.

Any recommendations on webcam and where to get it from?

    The logitech stuff is good - I have the C920 at home and its great. Have used the Brio series which is excellent and we use the lower end 720p cameras at work which do a fine job.

  • Microsoft hasn't made a LifeCam for more than a decade. Must have bought yours quite a while ago. The Logitech Brio line seem to be okay, the C920 is a bit old but still good too. Maybe look out for a used one.

    But, since this is cheapies, have you looked at using an old phone as a webcam? Newer versions of android have "webcam" as an option in USB setting and DroidCam works well for older phones

    We use Grandstream GUV3100 webcams extensively and they are decent - I don't know why they're so cheap.

  • I went with the Brio 500. Very happy with it. Note it is USB C, so if your dock only has USB-A ports like mine you will need an adaptor.
