Going to Gold Coast and was wondering if anyone has tried price matching and buying stuff from Jb or local stores from there?
Anyone Know if JB Hi-Fi AU Will Price Match Kogan for iPhones? Looking to Buy iPhone from AU to Save Few $s

Thanks, don't have an account htere but will try create one
Probably not Kogan imports devices so they will likely say that.
Also consider Tourist Refund Scheme.Good point!
When I was living in AU could never get JBHiFi to price match anything, suspect that they are owner operated or something but they would never honour the franchise or company promise. On the other hand if you purchase an item over $300, 60 days or less you can claim the GST back at the border on exit with their tourist refund scheme.
And declare new items over $700 at the NZ border 😂
We claimed Oz gst on a F&P wall oven that we had as checked baggage. But had to declare ovn as over $700 for NZ gst as it was very obvious what we were carrying. It would made for a good episode on border patrol as even the customs people were asking if I was carrying an oven while I was waiting in the queue.
We didn't pay NZ gst as we had enough people to split value of $700 or $1000?each.
We saved $1200 on the oven rather buying in NZ. 😊The blokes at the Good Guys could not believe how much we are paying for whiteware in NZ compared to AU. They could see my reason for weight values of the oven so I could take as checked baggage.
Just allow yoursel time at the boarder…might just be Sydney but in Nov they had 100 plus people queued up to get tax back and it was more than half an hour wait.
Officeworks is a much better target in AU for price matching items like this, but you seldom get matches with grey imports. Best bet is to find the best local stock price and then take the gst into consideration as others have mentioned above.
The queues at Coolangatta or Brisbane aren’t as bad as they can be in SydneyOr you could look at the duty free is flying.. There is also JB Hifi at the duty free in NZ airports now. and they price match themall (pbtech's duty free).
Jb Hi-Fi AU will pricematch with any non-parallel import Australia online or physical store retailer. Ping JB on the online chat if you want to buy online during a sale. They offer amazing deals and I've even pushed for an extra special deal recently. E.g. Google Pixel phones carry a 2 year warranty when purchased in Australia - they're unlocked anyway.
Claim the AU TRS (tourist refund scheme https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/touris…) for purchases over AUD 300 and you'll save yourself good coin.
Might be better asking on OzB?
Here’s a current JB deal on iPhones. You could put a question up.
