Yea just got this through on my app. Freebie KFC and Macs for lunch is a good start to a cheapies new year.

  • Thanks! Was just walking pasted the food court when I saw this. Photo is a bit misleading as it shows the new chocolate soft serve but only lets you select vanilla

Not all Maccas sell the chocolate one. Could that be why??

      • +1

This. I went to mc donalds and they dis not have chocolate.

    • +2

I was able to pick which one when using the code today - likely the store just doesn't have the chocolate flavour in stock as @shortstuff mentioned.

  • +1

At the Lower Hutt store, they had both vanilla and chocolate available.

    • Petone does not have Choc.

Still available as of 10 mins ago

  • Tried to redeem at Palmerston North Plaza food court maccas and the machines not working, might have better luck at Rangitikei or Princess Street

    • Successfully redeemed at Princess Street today - tried the new chocolate flavour which was pretty good!

Just picked up vanilla from the ormsiton store, was given both vanilla and chocolate option.

  • my phone isnt compatable with the app

    • Get a cheap android phone. Many old ones are still supported.

    Still working just now

  • +1

    Still works, just got one

  • Unfortunately ggallin you have to keep upgrading your phone to a new one to use their app which is so annoying.

  • Here's the thing with the updating of the phone to a new one …I have 2 of the same phone and they are both up to date with the same firmware however one can get the McDonald's app working and the other has now got the phone is out of date message….weird

  • Still visible to me. Unfortunately lactose intolerant haha

    • It will stay visible until they have exhausted the 50,000 soft serves but only between 11am and 11pm each day.

Makes sense. The way I read OPs description, I thought it was until 2300 the day of posting, not over multiple days

    • I thought these were dairy free, frozen dessert, which is why they are called soft serve instead of ice cream

    Thanks, got one.

  • Tried to get a second one today on my other account but the app recognized and said the offer had already been redeemed on my device with a different account 😅 too smart lol. Tried with a VPN and still got the same message too

If you're on Android, you can make a guest user profile and login to the app from there and it will work.

The last time I purchased one of these, they were 50 cents, and they had previously dropped the price from $1. Now they normally sell them for $2.50 which has increased more than inflation over that period. Their pricing seems pretty crazy these days but people are still buying it.

    • Burger King is $1.40 which isn't terrible I guess

      • +2

99c BK chicken, free zinger and free soft serve for lunch is better

        • A true Cheapies meal. I wonder what the retail price of that is. Probably $15+

          • @nzmax: BK chicken $8, zingers now $11, soft serve around $2 so it's $21 total. $15 was 2022 price hah

        • Don't the zinger need a minimum purchase?

          • +1

@bottomcoughs: From the KFC 6 & Shout you don’t need to buy anything if you win a prize in ‘Live Mode’ including the Zinger.
In ‘Season Mode’ you need to spend a minimum of $5 to redeem a reward.

  • Looks like it's over now, all claimed
