I'm considering this surge protector from Jaycar https://www.jaycar.co.nz/10-way-home-theatre-surge-protected… since it's the highest joule value I can find.
Does anyone have any other thoughts around high quality surge protector options?

I used to work in electrical and so we learned to check what standards a tool is certified. This model is by Eaton, well known in the power protection and supply industry, but I have not used this particular unit before.
Oh thanks, that's some excellent background reading and option.
Found these good value 1050J from Bunnings

As in it's not good enough for TVs, or overkill for things like TVs?
Well for budget TV's I'd say it's good enough but if you're spending over $2k on a Tv I'd get something that can handle more like Belkin
We still got an old Belkin at my parent place, it's one of those fat ones like in OP's link it had $300k connected equipment cover should anything die if it wasn't able to protect
Some of the Belkin's still have such but obviously a much lower $ amount is covered these days. Best bet to contact Belkin NZ and see what they say

A about 5-7yrs ago one of their surges stopped working after a power outage, probably blew, Belkin sent out a new replacement for it for free
What are you trying to protect?
Pretty much any expensive tech I have currently plugged in to cheap, awful multiboards. It's an old house so not many sockets in each room.
Any feedback on this Belkin? Looks be more compact than the model with USB A.

Looking for something decent with 8 outlets - not too fussed about usb plugs
Looks too be the newer model as its labelled Pro instead of Plus on Belkin website

When I had my circuit board re-done, I had the sparky add a whole house surge protector.
