Same happened to me last time too, couldn't have been the credit card as I used a different card, different email address, different everything. The only thing the same was the iPhone that Spotify was installed on, and I uninstalled and reinstalled before setting it up again. Not sure how the figured it out but they did. The didn't shut down the account but instead out of the blue it was just turned into a free account with all the accompanying ads.
It's probably fingerprinting.
Same music taste, same wifi devices, probably use the app in the same way.

If you have used this previously and are on iPhone then it will more than likely not work more than a few days.
I believe this has come from a Spotify update at some point. New users and Android devices seem OK.If you have used this previously then you will need a new email addfress and a card not used before.
For me, I get these trials for my wifes Android phone which is linked to Alexa for playing music at home. We have made sure to not update the Spotify app on her device. I no longer do it on iPhone as they have finally got me!How do you remove your card after signing up so I don't forget to cancel in Feb?
You can’t remove a card from an active plan.
Either cancel the plan or use a disposable card number from the likes of Wise or Revolut.
Wise Card doesnt work for me with this offer . Hasnt since last 3 month free offer a few months back before then i used these promos many many times.. and yes ive tried new digital wise cards etc.

I just used Wise with a new account and it worked all OK, let's see if they cancel it in a few days.
They tracked your credit card. i created new account OK - but when adding my credit card as the payment, it detected i've use trial before.
Used Wise with a new account last night, this morning my subscription changed from Premium to free 🥲
