      Beat me to saying this!

Can anyone comment on the stream quality? Last i used thisnservice was maybe 3 years ago amd it was hot garbage, enough to out enough to put up with sailing the seven seas for alternatives.

    • I have three Sony TVs of varying ages. Fibre internet 300/100 with Google wifi. On the newer TVs I can watch most of my sports with no stream issues/interruptions. On the older TV the stream quality is at times barely watchable - though I haven't contacted sky sports about it, presuming it's a TV issue, not fixed by connecting LAN to the TV. The TV skysportnow app is horrible, but usable.

    • Better than satellite reliability - for me anyhow. APP has improved. I find it great on my iPad also.

    • My partner uses the SkySport app on an Apple TV connected to a 55" TV (approx. 10 years old), and he hasn't had any complaints. Honestly, if you have a good wifi connection (we have Fibre 882/505Mbps for reference) and setup, it works well!

    That is all.

Might be a member of the VIP league.

        • You know sometimes IP near my TV

  • Like last year, code works with existing subscriptions also 👍

  • +2

Has anybody bought this while already having a subscription, and does this new 12 months start when your existing subscription lapses ?

I just applied the code. it says $134.99 will be taken off at next cycle. which is June 2025 for me - LOL. Hopefully it gets honored.

      • +2

Same thing with my partner's account, he's planning on screenshotting it just before it's renewed just in case he has to dispute with Sky lol

      • Yip I've just done this now too, will see I guess!

I did contact the support through email yesterday and they did say it was for new sign-ups only.

I knew I shouldn't have bought that monthly pass yesterday

  • Does anyone know the limit on simultaneous users? I have 4 in family who would use it at the same time. I assume also that this will do away with the skybox?

    • Can only be used on one device at a time

      • Does it matter where you log in though,?

Say I'm travelling to a friends place, can I log in there with my account and watch the content away from home.

Obviously can't be used by my family back at home at the same time.

        • Sure can, as long as it is in NZ

          • @monkey: you can use VPN for outside NZ. I ended up watching a match in the US

            • @RJA7: Acknowledged, but I wasn't going to advocate for something against their T&Cs 😉

  • What's the F1 content like on this.

Do you get access to race highlights on demand later, or are you forced to watch 'live tv' schedules only.

Actually that's a really important question regardless of F1, is there on demand content of past sport, or do you have to watch their TV scheduled replays etc?

    • +2

Yes, there are on-demand replays, highlight packages, etc. for most sports, including being able to go back to the older F1 races earlier in the season, etc.

You can also go back and stream anything from the last 24 hours from the TV guide. This is important because sometimes it takes a few hours for the replays or highlight packages to be listed in the on-demand section.

      • Perfect, thanks.

      • "You can also go back and stream anything from the last 24 hours from the TV guide…"

Recently changed to 6 hours, or have SS reversed that?

        • It's 6 now, but it's from when the show started. if the start time was 7 hours ago, and lasted 2 hrs, so finished 5 hrs ago, You are out of luck and have to wait for the replay to be uploaded.

If it's only F1 you want then look at F1TV instead

    • Agree F1TV is really good.

If you want anything else though this could be an option. Works out then at around $250 for all other sports 🤔

  • There are reports they are introducing unskippable ads that play on top of the feed.

  • What happens if you have last years BF promo on ? It already says "LIFETIME" so should I not add this then ? Last years was better . Mine renews on the 2nd of Dec.

    • Lifetime is lifetime - it keeps auto-renewing with the discount.

      • If you add this years , you reckon this will replace last years or get stacked?

        • I am not willing to find out :)

How are people still dumb enough to use sky when the internet exists ?
