We got the 1000 last year and love the detachable speakers. We went from an old 5.1 amplifier to this and it's great to ditch the rear speaker cables. They last a few days off the unit which is handy and generally we only undock them for movies that need the rear channels. It's significant nicer looking than the old set up we had.
