Hi we would love feedback in regards to a new launched Grocery price comparison app: Grosave.

We would love to hear the following feedback!

  1. Whether you would consistently use this app to shop for groceries
  2. How much you are likely to save per week using our app
  3. Any personal annoyances/frustrations
    4.If you have been using Grocer, what do you prefer that our app lacks?

Future features we are going to implement:
1. Ability to select stores

            @Alan6984: I don't have location enabled but still have this issue. Location helps to automatically pick your Selected Stores, within x distance, if you want it to but it doesn't limit the Biggest Deals for the region.

              @mpc: There are 2x settings in settings menu current location & radius store selector turn both of those off does that work

                Does that work for you?

                I just tried that, but I don't think it makes any difference for me.

                Right now, on the 'home page', I have it set to Auckland (I can't choose 'nothing' for the region) and my list of stores, with those two settings disabled, and the first item is:

                Green chilli 1 pack
                shore city $1.49
                lincoln road $26.59

                Neither of those stores are anywhere near me, and definitely not on my list of stores.

                What other settings do you have that makes it work?

                @liz181: I had location off already but have now turned off radius store selector. Though it doesn't make any difference unfortunately. It still lists products under Today's Biggest Deals for stores which I haven't selected and they can be quite a distance (60-70km for Wellington City) away.

      Hi thank you for your feedback and reminder, we are currently working on a massive feature for the app hence the delay but haven't forgotten about this.

      The ability to restrict home page to show deals from only selected stores should be released in Q1 of this year.

    What's up with CHCH lately?

    No stores at all a few days ago. Missing various stores the next. Then missing different stores. The different ones again.

    Currently Pak'nSave Moorhouse is gone (all PnS stores prior). Probably others as well.

      They had an issue a few days ago. It works for me now including the moorhouse store.

    I've reported Aranciata Rossa Sparkling Fruit Drink for having the wrong price multiple times over the past 4 or 5 months, yet week after week it's still there at the top of the page showing an awesome non-existent saving because it's comparing the price of a single unit against a 4 pack.

      Likewise for the San Pellegrino Limonata. Post above from @Grosave Support says they're working on a big new release so likely other improvements are on the back burner or tied to that.

    Whats annoying is adding something to shopping list as its good price then next day its 3x the price I guess its an error

    Grosave Update 22/01/2026

    There has been a significant update to Grosave!

    Namely:

    1. The product details page which features helpful information such as ingredients, allergens and nutritional info for applicable products.
    2. Ability to share a product with others
    3. Improved Search

    Please let us know if this feature is useful and if it was easy to find….we struggled to find a good place to put the link to the product details without interrupting the user flow so would love to hear any better ideas!

      There has been a significant update to Grosave!

      Hi GroSave,

      My feedback:

      1) Ingredients - Meh. If I am concerned about ingredients, I am almost certainly already aware of what is in things, so this doesn't really add much, but I guess the supermarkets make it easily available, so probably a quick and easy addition that won't take up much dev time, in which case, go for it.

      2) Ability to share - Would never use this myself. Nobody else is interested in my stuff (they might be polite, but they really aren't), and I am definitely not interested in anyone else's :-)

      3) Search is a big one, and was a significant issue before - I seem to remember someone posting about searching for milk somewhere, and it was only half working, so if this is now working well, that would be fantastic!

        Same, the first two new features are non-essential. I don't think I will use them at all.

          For me, the only thing that really needs fixing is the ability to only see products where one of our nominated stores is the one with the best price (on the home page).

          I'm not interested in knowing a store on the other side of Auckland has a great price on something, but all the ones near me are the normal price - that's pointless unfortunately - I'm not driving two hours to get a deal on a grocery item :-)

            @Alan6984: Well, I can understand it from an Auclander's perspective. But if doesn't really bother me since I live in Christchurch which is a lot smaller and we don't have that many stores as you guys do. I have seen a few pirce errors from non-nominated stores at home tab in the past. I don't mind driving extra 15 mins to get some ham for $5/kg.

        Hi Alan, not sure if the wording was clear, but we have already implemented these features listed and are working on other features requested by users such as the home page addition as we speak.

        Noted about the product details page, and The milk search is working well :)

        Would it be useful to have a review system where users can review products and give them a rating?

          Not at all from my perspective.

          I know what I want to purchase - I don't really care what anyone else thinks about those products.

          We're talking groceries here, so small value purchases. If I was looking at buying a car, I would definitely read reviews before dropping tens of thousands of dollars, but for a loaf of bread, or a tin of baked beans, especially where taste (say) is very subjective.

        If you click the product link from GroSave to the supermarket, you can already see ingredients?

          It saves someone from switching between the grosave app and the browser if they do care about ingredients.
