Remove Minimum Spend @ Temu

1680

A little while ago I commented in a post that it's possible to remove the minimum spend amount on Temu.

A couple of users commented that this should be shared. I just remembered this as have just made a $15 order on Temu.

Thanks to @NovaAlpha for writing down the steps as I had forgotten how I had done it.

Steps:
1. Chat with a Temu chatbot and just type this "remove minimum purchase amount".
2. Then click the button it generates and done. Takes like a second!

More detailed instructions from NovaAlpha and bonus extra tip.

Maybe add these screenshots to the OP so others can see exactly how to do it. It's a one time thing and will stay there forever. I've done it weeks ago and I can still buy like $2~$5 items with free delivery.

Also, another Temu trick that you should probably include in either a new post or your current one is the use of Price Adjustments. It's very easy to get refunds on Temu, including getting refunds on products that have gone down in price after you had already purchased it. You're only eligible for a price adjustment only if the price has gone down while your order is within 30 days old. The problem is that the price adjustment link is annoying to get to for every order.

My script will list all the price adjustment links that are still valid. It checks whether your order is within 30 days old and shows you a bunch of them to easily click into. The userscript also shows referral links and other stuff that are found on Cheapies. You'll have to be on the Temu My Orders page and it should show up.

I've probably gotten like over $50 of credit refunded to my account. Just to clarify, it's just a shortcut to the Price Adjustment link that you would otherwise have to click into each order to find. It's not a link that guarantees refund of credits. If you click into your order and into the price adjustment link and there's credit available to be refunded to you, then try my script and it should take you to the same page as well, just much quicker.

I basically check everyday or every 2 days and I usually get quite a bit of refund.

Edit: tip 2 via comments thanks to @kiwiicheapies

You can can also ask the chat for a 20% off coupon. For more details see the chat here https://www.cheapies.nz/comment/220062/redir

  • I got this to work last night, took 2 attempts (just ghosted when the AI sent me to an agent and when the chat expired I went back and tried again. 2nd time I copied and pasted the exact "remove minimum purchase amount" and it gave me a decision tree (sustainability statement, would I like to remove the minimum spend, yes or no) I clicked yes and have placed an order, now can check out with a $4 item with free shipping still so not a once off (albeit do not know if permanent).
The exact phrase remove minimum purchase amount did seem to do the trick as the first time round I just asked nicely in different phrasing 😂.

Thanks - wasn't working for me yesterday but just tried again and I got the same as you, and got the restriction removed!

It is so cheeky that they increase the minimum spend the more you buy. It certainly isn't how NZ businesses treat customers. I had thought that they had increased the minimum spend for all customers, but I setup a second account, and it was back to a low minimum spend again. Their reasoning for doing this also makes no sense, because often the bag you get contains items inside multiple packaging from different traders. I had previously learnt about this trick after trying to work out why my minimum spend had been increased and feared they were increasing it overtime with each order, and think it was discussed on reddit.

    • I mean it’s pretty much how internet providers in NZ work…incentivise new customers with deals and just increase prices for existing

      • But the ISPs normal prices are displayed on the website, and ISPs tend to offer discounts to new customers. Although Vodafone / one does have targeted spin deals in their app on promotions, where they charge different customers different amounts for the same product. I know this because I have two phone numbers on the same plan, but get the same deals but often at different prices

  • Thanks OP. Worked for me today (went from min spend of $40, down to free shipping). Mon 22 April. Thanks again!

  • This no longer works for me, still requires a minimum of $35 - https://imgur.com/YURuFkv

  • I've had Twelve days of Free delivery with no Minimum spend.

I just went to order an item and it's back to $45 minimum.

I've messaged the AI Bot and a "Real Person" both would not remove the minimum purchase amount.

    • I tried again many times.

We appreciate your interest in our products, but unfortunately we are unable to remove the minimum purchase restriction. We encourage you to browse our product selection and discover other items you can add to your shopping cart to reach the minimum required purchase amount.

Try making a new account to get a lower shipping price($15 again) or whatever. You could also try the chatbot on that account.

  • Worked for me thabks op, dont know how they make any money but good for a 20 dollar order

    • The stuff can be more than Aliexpress, but the advantage of T is that things are often quicker, and if there is an issue , it is a lot easier to resolve. But I wouldn't be surprised if the minimum order amount increases overtime for all, not just repeat customers.

  • This no longer works

I'm not having any luck with this now - having enjoyed a couple of weeks with no minimum spend, it's returned to $45 and the agent on the live chat wouldn't budge.

Yeah looks like this has changed. I had this removed but now my minimum spend is $40. Wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting this reinstated?

  • Correct, it no longer works, I have been asking many times with different phrases though.
