Cheap Hard Disk for Backup

My 8TB backup hard disk failed
I have an old 4TB that could be used. But it's old and isn't big enough (won't backup the least important files).
Should I buy the cheapest 8TB today?
Or are prices going to drop in the next few months?
Seagate 8TB $274 (34.25 $/TB)

This site has been posted previously - seems to be pretty cheap. although if you're concerned about warranty, i would keep it local.
I have used them previously & the drive is still working well

    • Daamn, this guy really has some amazing prices. Does anyone know what is meant by "100% Generic Firmware"?
Is it just a language/translation issue, meaning firmware hasn't been wiped (changing the runtime etc)?

  • Check ozbargain there are refurb enterprise hdd that people are keen on. I think it was an ebay guy. Some ppl contacted directly to skip gst. I don't have specifics so you'd need to do some digging.
