American Express Now Available with Apple Pay

Email arrived in my inbox today announcing American Express is now available via Apple Pay.

Use Apple Pay anywhere that already welcomes American Express contactless payments.

Good way to get shops not accepting amex paid for using paywave nice.

  It sounds like you can only use Amex Apple Pay at stores that already accept the Amex card via Paywave, sadly.

      Yes, that's correct. Also PayWave is a Visa brand. Amex calls their contactless tech Expresspay. Or just call it contactless or tap&go.

What a joke NZ Amex has taken this long. It's been available in Australia and other countries for years. It's still not available for Android.

  I had no trouble in adding "The American Express Airpoints Card " via the app. Try adding in via the app again

    just tried it again now via the apple wallet app which worked!

Similar to this, Kiwibank finally have Google Pay in the past week or so.
