Problem getting redemption from manufacturer from product sold by NZ Computer store

Anyone come across this type of problem?

I purchased a product that was advertised as coming with a bonus product by redemption. However the code the manufacture sent me to redeem the product is invalid, and I only have a few days left before the redemption expires. I have contacted the manufacturer to provide me with teh correct code but they haven't replied and they don't make it easy to contact them as they are based overseas. I also contacted the computer store but haven't yet heard back. Is it the computer stores responsibility to sort this out?

      It's for a graphics card.

    Did the local reseller advertise the redemption offer? If they did, they are on the hook for helping you follow through with the redemption. If you bought the product seeing the redemption offer advertised and the provided code does not work, the seller needs to provide an appropriate remedy according to the CGA. That might be a full refund, or it might be that they intervene and get you a valid code, or they might supply the bonus product themselves and take up redemption with the supplier. But either way, they can't wiggle out of this if they've advertised it.

    Give them a call, or harass them in whatever way you can - preferably before the offer expires as it will be harder afterwards. They have purchasing channels they can go through to hopefully pull some levers for you.

      Thanks, yes it was on the promos page and they had a tag on the product advertising the redemption. I will chase them up again.

    In my experience it's not the manufacturer that sent out these codes they often use a third party company, check the fine print of the offer and see if you can find the company directly responsible for and get into contact.

    If it's a software product, contact the manufacturer's support team, they'll normally just provide another code if you have proof of purchase.
