Need a New Vacuum Cleaner (Consumer report please)

Get to blame my wife here she fried our current vacuum, it needs a new motor (Miele Cat and Dog). Looking for a vacuum that is great at picking up pet hair. Looking for recommendations and or consumer reports if anyone is willing to share.

    The wet/dry shop vac I bought from super cheap auto is absolute legend. It was on sale.
    The wet ability us great for spills and cleaning rugs. The suction is powerful on dry mode too.
    Worth looking at, I'd buy another.
    Doesn't have a retractable cord but it's 2 second job to coil it and the vac has a hook for it. I don't find it an inconvenience

      One of the other downsides of a shop-vac versus a normal vacuum cleaner is that they are usually quite a bit louder

    We have both a Miele C3, and Dyson V12
    Both great for dog hair, I would probably reach for the Dyson first

      Absolutely love Dyson V12. Probably not as powerful as V15 and higher, but for weight it's perfect. Any other stick vacs feels way heavy to me.

        Never had a stick vac before, need to go try one out. I do like the idea of ease and not having to lug around a cumbersome machine.

          We got one to supplement our Miele canister vac and it's been great. So easy to grab the stick vac off the wall for little messes or a quick tidy up then pull the Miele out once in a while for a more thorough vacuuming.

    Look for one with at least 250AW of suction power.

    Please buy the consumer report yourself. It only costs like $20 and supports a worthwhile organisation.

    Why dont you get another Miele c3 Complete pet and dog? Ive owned 2 now and they are fantastic.

      Yes! We've decided on another cat and dog one, going to buy it from Miele in Penrose this week.

    I've had a Dyson v15 from the Dyson deal a while back. Best $1000 I ever spent. Picks up a lot of hair easily, lightweight but has a decent size bin and all the attachments are easy to swap out. Emptying the bin is very easy and rewarding too, everything about it is awesome.
