Any One Ever Used U-Shaped Electric Toothbrush? Any Good?

Hello.
Sorry, this is not a deal but a question.

If there is anyone who has used a u-shaped u-shaped electric toothbrush, could you please share your experience with it?
Is it actually working?
I am using one from Oral-B but if this new type is better, I will go for it.
Wait, if it is any better, all should start using it, right?

Dicksmith sells a kind of copy of the original version.- $52

Even cheaper from Temu

And this seems the original(?) one from USA - about $100

Not using the U shaped but switched to the new IO Oral B tooth brush at Christmas.
Very impressed over the older generation.

    • What makes the IO series that much better than the high end models from 5+ years ago?

      • the motor appears to run at a much higher frequency. Smoother gentler operation overall.
Partner works in dental and was impressed by them over the standard lineup.

Good to know, will wait for a decent price drop and upgrade ours. Then the kids can have our old ones

        • Is the Series 7 or 9 worth the extra over a Series 4?

          • @coach: just more modes i believe? i think i have the series 3 or 4 and only use one mode.

Just had a read over that sonic brush site. All of the branding and research is talking about how much better it is compared to manual brushing.

But a regular electric toothbrush is also so much better.

I doubt it’s much different in terms of effectiveness. Maybe it’s more convenient but I think I’ll just stick with the regular one until they can put out some research otherwise.

    • Okay, thanks. You saved my 50 bucks

Don't waste your money OP. I had one that looks exactly like the one from Dicksmith, except that I got it from Amazon and it's rubbish and barely even brushes your teeth. It's just a complete gimmick.

There are a few articles or Youtube videos out there that compares these products and generally they're rubbish.

The only one I found that seems to be promising (based on some of the comments I read) is this, but their store has been down for ages:

The only reason I looked into this is because I'm lazy AF. I also hate brushing. I just wanted to plug this into my mouth and let it brush my teeth while I work. Yes I know it's just a few minutes, but every minute counts when I'm in full work mode.

Otherwise, just get a waterpik and an electric toothbrush. It should help in situations where you just want a 80% clean and not a full clean.

They were purchaed by Curaprox and rebranded as Samba - https://curaprox.us/info/samba
They have a smaller brush head and is being marketed specifically for people with disabilities, but you could still buy one if you wanted to.

    • Thank you. I am lazy also but decided not to buy thanks to your advice.
Yeh, i will chech the waterpik along with my electric toothbrush
