I'm assuming you mean aramex? if so, overnight delivery with them usually means you'll get it a few days after lol.

If you say it with a French accent then the ‘x’ is silent 🙃

    • so i got ripped off paying over night shipping

      • you could land a dart on a dart board and any option it lands on is usually thier delivery timeframe, so yeah. If you really want true overnight delivery, use DHL express or urgent couriers if the options there.

  • Your tracking number should give you some info, ie if its onboard with courier or not.

    • it says Your parcel has been processed within our delivery Regional Franchise.
and says delivery is 17/01/2024 today

It would say onboard with courier if its out for delivery

I've never had an item shipped with them delivered when they said it would be, you'll probably get it, but it's a bit of a stab in the dark as to when.

Aramex is hands down the worst courier company. Last parcel sent through them said it was overnight delivery and it took a week to arrive, Whangarei to Auckland. This was after multiple phone calls as the package kept saying it was being redirected between Auckland sorting/processing depots, and they couldn't give us any proper answers. Awful service.

  • Its normal… I have a package that took 48hrs from leaving amazon USA to customs clearance NZ but so far we're at day 6 to get from Auckland to Whangarei.

  • Why would anyone pay for overnight shipping in NZ? But based on my personal experience, I think NZ Post is able to do that for majority of the same island non rural parcels.

    • Major centre to major centre is normally good.
Wellington to chch seems fine as well for overnight

  • There is no such thing as guaranteed overnight delivery in New Zealand. There is a very expensive option from PACE but that only operates between main cities.

Both Aramex and NZpost courier have target overnight delivery for their standard product (excluding Rural Delivery address) but that's all it is. A target not a guarantee.

To answer you. Did you get ripped off paying for "overnight"? Probably. It's the standard wording for most courier product.

  • Ahh Aramex.

    I don't think there's a person out there with a good experience.

Had someone ship an item from Trademe (because they're TM's partner courier company - yippee) from Auckland to Wellington and it took three weeks.

In that same time period, I had an Amazon package from the US arrive from Amarex quicker (but still missed the delivery date by a day - and had no local tracking so I had no idea where it was beyond something like 'arrived at US depot for international departure').

When it comes to Amazon packages, what I think happens is that they priorities those deliveries above all others because they'll have some clause that says they have to delivery X amount of packages within a certain time frame or ultimately lose the contract (otherwise you'll have an influx of customers asking for refunds from Amazon). And you don't want to lose a contract with Amazon.

Anyway, I digress. It's Amarex. Their tagline should be "Yeh, good luck with that."

  • Aramex(Fastway) is the worst courier, but when it comes to overnight even NZ Post (Courierpost) can't guarantee it will happen. Usually if the parcel still isn't onboard a delivery van after 3pm it will not be delivered that day.

  • Did you get the package on the 17th? I've had pacels left and picked up by Aramex from our front door in Dunedin after 6pm. Pretty sure NZPost don't go that late here. Can't recall any issues with Aramex, things arrive when expected. I wouldn't pay extra for overnight shipping but have had some things arrive really fast, eg Munch Time orders and dog food from pet.co.nz arrive before 8am the next day, both from Christchurch.
