It's now their standard price it seems. Hasn't changed since it first became $5 over Dec.

Apparently $2 for a dozen at the Hamilton City store. Expiring 10th of January.

    • "Best before" it's not an expire date.

Went to The Warehouse at Milford, Auckland. There were also short dated (10 Jan) Original Toffee Pops for .20c each. Grab the ones with the yellow Reduced to Sell sticker on them.

      20c toffee pops wow

      • Yep, I bought 10 packets and it cost me the princely sum of $2.00 - looked like a greedy guts!

wow nice I paid like 2 bucks for them in Newmarket

Great deal! I thought I got a good deal with $1 toffee pops last week from the Hamilton city store, got the last 6 and they were still good for like a week

  • Local paknsave was selling short dated size 8 10 pack eggs for $4.
I looked through them and found some with their normal expiry dates. Defiantly worth keeping an eye out for them

  • Went to my local wh and none on shelf despite app saying Instock

    • I've been to several stores and there's been a second location where additional stock in 15 dozen master cartons are available.

Yay, eggs prices are dropping, consumers should be united and continue to boycott them, stop buying until they go back to Size 7 30x for $8.

uh oh, will be much harder to find eggs at TWH after the publicity, lol. Plus the limit is 6 cartons per person, but the sign at my local says limit 2. Hmm must be an Auckland thing.

        The Warehouse are consistently inconsistent.

      • when i got mine i asked the staff and they said no limit, i took 3 cartons.

      • I noticed this during Christmas too, Henderson store even used marker or something to hide the 6 limit on the deal sign IIRC.

I do find it funny this is made like a big deal when the quantities involved are likely tiny and as you mentioned their ability to consistently supply it probably limited. I mean there is a chicken and egg problem here to some extent, no pun intended. Vagaries of market demand combined with how little their dealing with mean it's probably difficult for them to avoid frequent oversupply (and waste or loss) and under supplies. I suspect it's far easy to manage when you're selling in quantities like the supermarket.

Not to deny that supermarkets can have problems too, but e.g. most of the time Pak'nSave Westgate does have even their cheapiest eggs and their $1.19 loaves both wheatmeal and white even at evenings on weekends. Warehouse seems to consistently run out of these so that it just doesn't seem worth it to check (especially for the loaves) which means even if they have them, me and others who feel the same are not buying them. The fact that they're still fairly limited in groceries doesn't help either since even if they do have stock, it's always likely an additional trip.

    • And everyone clapped

      • And dropped their eggs ☹️

  • Been wondering why the eggs were such a good price and just saw this article today.

*** Warning there are some disturbing pictures on the article ***

Yep, we banned caged eggs but not colony eggs. But actually NONE of the methods are humane. Even free range eggs are not necessarily true free range. At the end of the days, consumers were scammed into believing they are eating humanely produced eggs which are more expensive (ie. more profits for the supply chain).

Becoming a vegan is probably the best way to be "humane".

    • It's the same eggs at the supermarkets, it's just cheaper.
