  • How did you test?

If using WiFi, it is possible that is where the issue lies.

Can you test using a wired ethernet connection?

Given you have rebooted the ONT / router / laptop etc then maybe try re-testing - it might have been a transient issue (fingers crossed!)

When you say you don't have a phone, do you mean you don't have a phone at all, or that it isn't working, perhaps related to internet connectivity issues?

  • Maybe learn to do basic level troubleshooting first? The test you've done is not thorough. Even if you do contact Spark support, they'll want to know what you've tested and that will usually help speed along the troubleshooting process.

The things you should check are:

    1. Is it slow on Wifi, or on Ethernet connection as well? If it's slow on Wifi and not on Ethernet, then the issue isn't with Spark.
    2. Have you tried a different ethernet cable? Even if you're on Wifi, your router would be connected via Ethernet to the ONT box. It could be the cable has deteriorated.
    3. Is anyone downloading a large amount of data (movie, torrents, whatever) at the moment? Just because you've reset your internet + PC + laptop, it doesn't mean those devices won't resume downloading once internet is back online.
    4. Have you checked Spark's website for outages for your region? Have you checked DownDetector to see if anyone else complained about having issues with Spark?
    5. How exactly have you tested the download/upload? Using Speedtest? Have you tried a different Speedtest server?

Those are just some of the basics to get you started.

Cool - most endpoints experience transient issues occasionally. Often in the middle of the night, so it goes un-noticed, but even in the day, unless you are doing something that is noticeably slowed, most of the time people aren't aware.

The added bonus is that it helps the Com merve Commission keep the ISPs honest
