Recommendations for a Gaming Monitor for 3090 & 7800X3D

Hi All,

If anyone has any recommendations for a monitor that could utilize the components in the title, I'd love to hear them. I'm looking for either QHD or 4K, HDMI 2.1 ports & G-sync support or compatibility. 27" size minimum, Ideally I'd go above 30" but then I'd want 4K for pixel density and price will be pushed over $1,000..

There are so many options out there and I'm not getting anywhere with my own research, there seem to be mixed reviews on every monitor in my price range of $500-$800. Hopefully I can settle on one before boxing day sales end.

Cheers.

  • I recently got this: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MONSAM72528/Samsung-Odyssey…

for $345 from noels priced matched to pbtech during black friday.
Decent panel, running a 3060 with gsync.

no qualms from me so far, works as intended and easy to calibrate.

    • Playing RDR2, warthunder and witcher 3 and noticed no issues of monitor performance during any of them.

  • I have a 2nd hand monitor I'm selling - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/computers/monitors/l…

    Samsung 28" , 4K, Model number: U28E590D

Dunno if it's up to your specs but you can check it out and let me know if you're intersted - located in Wellington if it's any help

  • I run a QHD 34" 144hz ultrawide Cooler Master display, the size is fantastic and while I've never used a 4k ultrawide, I don't feel like it's lacking pixel density, it also gives my laptop with a 3070 a hope in hell of running it. If it's for gaming I'd personally recommend sticking to QHD as, unless you're going to be upgrading to top tier GPUs constantly, it'll give you good frame rates for longer, no doubt a 3090 can drive a 4k display now, but what sort of frame rates do you want in a few years when things are much more demanding?
