Do Not Buy JVC 55" QLED TV

Mum bought the JVC 55" QLED TV. Seemed like a good deal.

Today I was setting it up for her and I was really careful about taking it out of the box etc. But the tv is broken. It has lines one the screen :(

    What did the warehouse say?

    • tried calling them 6 times they never pick up the phone

in their defense it is literally their busiest individual day of the year today.

The one near my place was packed when I went past. The live chat on their website is currently manned.

I'd get a refund as it is a substantial failure of character. Stick to good brands

TBH it looks like physical damage (could have happened in-transit or in the store).
I have always found with TWH, it is almost impossible to phone them (and would not even bother trying to call any retail store on Boxing Day).
100% OP will be able to get a refund or replacement.

What a joker! Doesnt mean every JVC 55" TV will be broken!

Its Boxing Day and its mayhem out there. Either go there and wait till tomo when the poor retail sales staff get a breather.. Warehouse is really good at replacing faulty products..

Agreed, as unfortunate as it is, it is no way indicative that ALL of this model will be damaged.
It does not warrant a post, and is just bad luck.

ok where taking it back now

  • +2

This does happen it's usually courier damage.
I would be surprised if they refused if it's only a few days since you actually purchased it. Seen it on LG Samsung and Philips it's rare but does happen

Take it back they will be slammed from boxing day.

"Do Not Buy JVC 55" QLED TV"

Because YOU received a damaged one ?

    Bit extreme.

    • Yeah why is this thread even still up lol

Lol. While I'm hardly going to pimp their quality, they are 100% fine and you'd be a mug to pay much more for a similar TV from a "good" brand.

Can't pimp the quality cause I've been through 2 over 5 years at this point. Though I'd have to point out that with the 2 returns and rebuys the Warehouse have essentially paid me $300 to lease a TV for two years, upgrade it to a bigger and better model for two years, and get a even bigger, better one this year (cause each time I take a refund and buy the newer similar model, which is always cheaper by this point)

There used to be a Panasonic jx600 then lx600 about two or three years ago. It was the same bottom tier tv that gets rebranded as falcon and veon and smartape but more expensive.

You'd tell customers 'dear god just go buy a veon at the Warehouse' but they'd still buy it and complain about it.

I bought a veon once and it was faulty out of the box. Took it back, got given a new one and it’s worked perfect for years… how can one complain?

Make sure you keep the packaging when you claim replacement/refund.
