Hey all,

It's been a while since I've graduated so don't have access to my .edu email anymore, cant take advantage of those unidays discounts without it. Anyone know any workarounds or where to buy an edu email? cheers!

You could enroll in one of the free courses offered by Te Wananga?

  • Do all the free courses come with the email or does it have to be a certain number of hours.

I tried to sign up to an online Maori course, but the courses I found were too many hours and had to commit to a regular on person or online 3 hr weekly session and I couldn't commit to a scheduled 3hr slot as was looking at notes self directed time line.

I have student email account and signed up UniDays. I couldnt actually see anything worthwhile in there as most are 10% off RRP not sale items. I guess Apple music would be one. Curious as to others I may have misssed?

    • 10% off RM Williams is pretty decent using StudentBeans. Notion Premium is also great.

  • Rarely worthwhile.

And you can just email them usually. Most of the students and teachers in NZ have a .school.nz address and not a .edu, so the automatic sign-ups never work anyway.

I think .school.nz is for secondary schools. Tertiary education providers in NZ usually use .ac.nz domains and email addresses.

And yes .edu usually means that it's US-based.

      • Schools in general.

My point being the automatic discounts don't work because NZ doesn't use .edu (generally)

I mention .school.nz specifically because both teachers and students have them, and it's highly likely most people know a kid of any age who attends school who will have one and likely know if- so it's going to be the easiest one to access.
