      Pak n save has a great deal on Scotch Fillet at the moment, at $27.99/kg, but at my local place Beef Eye Fillet is still at its usual price of $54.99/kg

    Yes that's a good price, easy enough to slice and freeze it yourself too. Nicest meat on an animal imo.

      Does freezing eye fillet reduce the quality (significantly / noticeably)?

        I didn't find an immense reduction in the quality, but obviously it's different compared to "fresh" meat. I suggest not freezing for more than a few months and freeze asap and well covered.

        I slice it ~3-4 cm thick and place into large ziplock bags and try squeeze as much air out of the bag as possible. Then I stack the ziplock bags in a shoe box and put that in the freezer. Main quality issue is freezer burn so you need to try reduce exposure to air as much as possible, but the steaks I've frozen using this method have always been fine.

    Yes its a great price for Eye Fillet. Also New World would be Q Mark prime steer/heifer vs prime beef cow which would be what all the other ones selling for around $30pkg would be. If on the hunt for PS Scotch Fillet NW will have it cheaper than PNS the week after next. If Rump is your flavour of choice PNS will have that cheap the same week as NW have the scotch on.

  My local also has whole Beef Sirloins for $19.99 kg alongside the beef eye fillet.
