Welcome to Try Pricegrabber App and Provide Valuable Feedback

Hello everyone,

I have recently developed an app called Pricegrabber, designed to help consumers find the best shopping deals and facilitate price comparisons. Currently, Pricegrabber offers the following features:

  • Price Comparison: Pricegrabber allows users to compare product prices across multiple retailers to ensure they get the most cost-effective deals.
  • Real-time Discounts: Our app provides instant discount information from various retailers, making it easy for you to find discounted products.
  • Shopping Alerts: Pricegrabber enables you to set price alerts, so you'll receive notifications as soon as the products you're interested in go on sale.
  • Retailer Directory: We have compiled a list of numerous well-known retailers in New Zealand, ensuring you can quickly discover price reductions from different stores.
  • Barcode Scanning: Now, you can use Pricegrabber to scan product barcodes and instantly access price comparisons and discount information, making shopping more convenient!

Through Pricegrabber, you can effortlessly compare prices, find the best discounts, set alerts, and explore various retailers.

However, we understand that there is room for further improvement in the app. Therefore, I would like to seek feedback and suggestions from all of you. If you have already used Pricegrabber or have any ideas, please share them here. We welcome all feedback related to enhancing user experience, adding features, fixing issues, and more.
Thank you for your support and feedback; we will continuously strive to make Pricegrabber even better!

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

  • Hi,

The link above (https://www.cheapies.nz/node/Pricegrabber.co.nz) returns a '404' error at the time of my posting.

    Thanks,

    Alan.

    • That's my bad. Fixed.

      • Thanks - working now.

  • +1

I like the idea in general. How does it differ from, say, PriceMe?

One thing that jumps out at me, is that most of the icons carry little objective meaning (the login one works though). I would suggest either using words, or at the least have a 'pop up' when you hover over them to tell you what they do.

Also, for me, I won't login to sites using Google or any other third party - I only do it using my own credentials. I suspect most people won't care that much though :-)

Can we add other stores ourselves? I might be missing something, but it appears that there is only one Countdown, one New World, and one PNS? I think, in general, that all CD stores have similar prices, but PNS definitely vary significantly by store (and perhaps NW does too if I think about it).

    Hope that helps!

    Alan.

    • While PriceMe allows you to compare prices across retailers, Pricegrabber goes a step further by focusing on finding the best deals and discounts for you.

With Pricegrabber, we put extra effort into identifying time-limited promotions, coupon codes, clearance sales and other money-saving opportunities across merchants. The goal is to aggregate the deepest discounts in one place, so you can instantly find the cheapest price.

In addition to listing regular retail prices, Pricegrabber proactively surfaces real-time discounts and limited-time promotions. PriceGrabber always bring you up-to-date discounted pricing.

    • BTW, quite different price from PNS, and New World if you try this app and go into the Grocery to have a try.

  • First of, love the idea, and always down for more price history tools in NZ.

    Some feedback:
The first thing I looked for showed $6.29 but when I go to the store (themarket) it's $8.99.

Though buying direct from ecostore it's 6.99 currently. Any plans to add more stores?

    Also allot of duplicates.

  • great to have another site
    just had a quick look
i think its not as easy as it could be to compare prices which is basically what it should be doing.
for instance pricespy will show you the cheapest price of a product at a glance but your site just returns all prices from all stores, which is kinda what google shopping does now to a degree.
this can lead to some lowest price confusion, as its really saying thats the lowest price from that store, which could be the most expensive price compared to other stores.
also i see pricespy is considered a store, so some products link to pricespy which doesnt work that great.
the main issue i have with these price comparison sites is accurate data, something that affects all of them for various reasons.
some logic to the landing page would be good, for instance when i refresh it gives me a different list of products everytime, perhaps it should default to latest listings? Understand you can click off and use filters to achieve this somewhat.

  • Might be a good idea to include sites like Farmers Box. For example, their mangoes are currently cheaper than the ones listed on PriceGrabber.

  • Should also be able to subscribe to price drops
