Recommend a Solid Pair of Jandals

Just broke two pairs of Havaianas in the space of a week. Now my ideal setup of one pair at the front of the house, one pair at the back of the house, and one pair that goes anywhere has been ruined 🥲

Wanting something that is a good balance between long-lasting and affordable.

Tell me you’re from NZ without telling me you’re from NZ….😆

I ended up shelling out 40 bucks for Archies. They are all one piece so shouldn't fall apart like my usual jandals.

  • Picked this adidas slides couple of weeks back for $14. Not on sale currently. Maybe another option to jandals?

Wide strap jandals all the way, Kmart/Warehouse/Wherever you can get them. Can't stand Havianas and their cheap cousins.

Don't be like me and discover in January each year that you need new jandals, only to find that there aren't any good ones left in your size 😅

    • I found havianas were so slippery between my foot and the jandal. Horrible product.

  • screw jandals, upgrade to teva sandals or something.

  • Didn't you load up on these like the rest of us?

    • Too narrow at the top of the foot 😢

  • Archies or nothing imo. They're the shit.

    • Agree, got 3 pairs when they had a sale. Awesome jandals

I thought "Jandal" had to have a strap between the toe, like a flip-flop? Aren't those mentioned just sandals?

  • I reccomend the Quiksilver Oasis jandel. Bought it on special at Rebel and its lasted me several years now.

  • We are all converted to crocks and are pretty happy with them, the range is called crockband flip. I change them when the sole as no more tread and for me it's around 3 years, they are light sturdy and comfy. We mostly get them on amazon, Rebel sport as them as well and have a special on them at the moment. https://www.rebelsport.co.nz/product/8144091/crocs-unisex-cr…

  • Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far. Not a fan of slides since they don't fit my wide foot all that well. Unsure about sandals as well. I like the ease of a jandal, but never say never.

So, will need to look more in to

    Teva sandals
    Croc jandals
    Wide strap jandals
    Archies
    Quicksilver jandal

Might go into Rebel and try some of the above.

I'm a big fan of the archies (Torpedo7 hospo code had a great price on them last year)

    • Hubby has wide feet and we got some wide fit jandals from Temu, it has been six months and it's still great

Don't laugh, but my crocs flip flops are awesome and have lasted for years( and they don't look like crocs) https://www.crocs.co.nz/men/flip-flops?p=1

  • Another vote for crocs flip flops. They really are comfy, last years, and don't have that croc look, if that worries you. I purchased my last and only pair needed 3 years ago on NZsale

    Golden!
The warehouse sell them - the bottom plug is in the shape of a bread tag 🤣 they are impossible to pull through

The bro How to dad really done a solid on these Jandals. He even went around and done a challenge to try and see if anyone can break them. Next time your in the warehouse (when no one is looking 🤣) try and see for yourselves just how strong they are. Fully reccomend these jandals.

  • Partner had Archies for ages and kept saying how good they were, could never justify the price.

Eventually got some and so far I've worn them in all conditions, had them stretch and get caught on things that would have broken other jandals. Plus they offer great support.

If and when I need to replace these I'll go with Archies again.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Grabbed 1x Crocs and 1x Archie's.

    • What's ya verdict on these mate? I've always found jandals with the rubber straps chaf my skin.

Archies are more comfortable over a longer period because the tightness gives a snugger feel. But I'm still getting used to the arch support. Crocs are easy to put on and good for a quick trip here and there. Decent overall.

Leaning towards the Archies at the moment. Both solid pairs though. Tried the Crocs at Rebel and the Archies at T7. I reckon give em a go in-store if you have the time.

  • I like Reef jandals, they can be anywhere from $35-$120 theyre built well, mine last usually 2 years (probably would last more but the wife gets grossed out by em after about 18 months) Im a wear jandals everywhere i can get away with it type, all year round. So they get a lot of mileage.

  • Another vote for Teva sandals

  • Archies!

  • Thanks for the recommendations! Bought a pair of Crocs flips on sale at Rebel and so far they are feeling amazing!

Another vote for Archies, I'm a season deep in mine and they are going strong. Grab one of the discounts from T7 and they'll come down to around $30 for a pair.

Update on my Archies. I did many many km in them last month, they held up fine and were perfectly comfortable. But I was in some hot countries and when my feet started to sweat, they became the slipperiest pair of jandals I have ever seen. So much so I couldn't walk down the slightest of inclines as my feet would slide all over the place inside the jandal. Could just be a me problem though!
