  • Hey mate,

Here's what I came across, have a look:

    https://pricespy.co.nz/shop.php?f=40603#about

    "Company information
Full company name: HOME EXPRESS LIMITED
    Company registration number: 9429040522722"

No other feedbacks. Nothing. 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ (Hence, looks pretty suspicious to me, tbh. Be careful…)

    Take care! 👍🏻
    Cheers! 👋🏻

  • Looks fine to me, incorporated in 1973 according to the companies register!
    https://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/c…

  • They previously traded under home direct. I believe they mainly do time payment via direct debit in the hope of making money from the fees

  • Found some other feedbacks on trademe. 99,5% — positive. (But almost all of them — from 2023…🤔)

    https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/stores/Home-Express

    And yeah, they also state:
"We’ve been helping Kiwis throughout New Zealand get the things they want since 1973." (And no other feedbacks but from this year…)

    Very interesting… 😏

  • Thanks guys think I will steer clear for now as I had not seen this site before in any of my searches
    Was looking at this
    https://homeexpress.co.nz/panasonic-65-mini-led-4k-hdr-smart…
And at Harvey Norman seems to be at lot more expensive
    https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/pana…
    Site seems a bit sus

    • On the side note, they have phone number & physical address. Not sure if that counts for anything but atleast some info is there.

      • Having a physical address does not tell you if it's legit or not.

After watching several Fair Go episodes like : https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/fair-go/episodes/s2023-e31

The conclusion I got is: any physical person can register a new company: that include people that have court case pending or appealing (which all cases of dodgy business) . MBIE is apparently not responsible for checking if a person is trustworthy to open a company or not. There were several cases in Fair Go where someone can take money of people from one company and open a new one and repeat.

        Doing investigation you get:
Director is Michael WRIGHT based on https://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/c…
And that person seems to be director of a bunch of others: https://www.companiesnz.com/person/187828/michael-wright

Now it's up to you …

        • Sorry should have elaborated. Yes you are are correct for the most part. What I meant with physical address is they offer pickup and returns, so easily can visit the business and see if they are legit or not.

          • @ace310: Agree. If you can go the adress and check that it is legit: that would be the best.

In the Fair Go episode, the team went to the address for art shopping company to find a garage (car repair) with the staffs sadly used to see people looking for an art company :D

    • Looks to be unavailable anyway?

    • Could try your luck "price matching" Noel leeming: https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/panasonic-65-4k-mini-led-tv/…

Wondered if they would honour their price though.
