Could we get additional post tags?

I'm referring to the tags that sit before post titles that say things like "UPCOMING".

I feel it'd be useful if we could have some of these to apply to threads via checkboxes or drop menus on the creation page.

The tags could announce things like:

"AUCKLAND/any other city ONLY"
"IN-STORE ONLY"
"CLICK & COLLECT"

etc.

I think tags like these would make it a lot easier for readers to tell at a glance if a post will be of any relevance to them, and they would also mean thread titles could be simpler and in less need of being edited for the sake of consistency.

  • Decent idea but feel it could get messy.

    AUCKLAND/any other city ONLY

Would the drop down then have to list every place in NZ?

    IN-STORE ONLY"
    "CLICK & COLLECT"

What if it's a combination of the two + in a certain town? most of the title will be covered in blue tags

thread titles could be simpler and in less need of being edited for the sake of consistency.

To an extent. I'll have to make sure all of the blue tags are correct + sort out the rest of the title. People struggle with PAK'n SAVE, JB Hi-Fi, addding expiry dates to their deals, putting in the right tags (if any) etc.

  • +1

Perhaps the city tag could use a larger tag, and the conditions tags could use one like we have to notify new posts.

Would the drop down then have to list every place in NZ?

Perhaps an autocomplete field would make more sense.

But yeah, I get your criticisms, it's just that meeting and reading all the requirements via typed text (eg. pricematch @ Warehouse) can be difficult for some, so I figure there's got to be some way of streamlining it.

    • Surprised I couldn't find a similar discussion on OzBargain. Though I could be using the wrong search terms.

  • I think they already exist, from my account settings:

Title Tags will match keywords inside square brackets ([ … ]) at the beginning of a deal's title. Multiple tags in a deal title are comma-separated. Note: this will also apply to New Deals page, where deals with low priority title tags will be filtered out.
