Oppenheimer is worth a watch definately something in itself in IMAX tho

Watched the movie and it was insanely boring. My partner and I almost fell asleep. No action, too much talking and even the climatic part was super boring.

Imagine going to a 3 hour historical drama about the development of the atomic bomb and then complaining about a lack of action did you want them to throw nukes at eachother like grenades?

          • +1

@pinch: Imagine attending a 3-hour film that feels more like a documentary than a movie, filled with nearly 99% of barely audible dialogue (the typical Nolan movie).

The whole movie was about the atomic bomb and the trailer was built around blowing up the bomb, so yes I do expect to see some goddamn explosions or at least a bit more action. The part where they blew up the bomb was literally the highlight and climatic part of the movie and it lasted barely a few seconds. Honestly thought the movie would be more interesting than that. People basically paid good money to see a 3 hour documentary, when you could have easily just watched the real Oppenheimer talk stuff on Youtube.

I know I'm not the only one with this opinion. Just look at the reviews on Reddit, heaps of people found it boring.

@NovaAlpha: Of course there's plenty of people that found it boring, but there's also plenty of people who really enjoyed it. It's reviewing well, and it's continuing to sell tickets.

It's okay for something to not be your cup of tea. Doesn't mean you need to go online and tell everyone else that you think their opinion on liking the film is wrong.

@dankd: Since when did I say others have a wrong opinion? I merely stated my own opinion based on my experience with the movie. Calm down.

You're not the audience for it. My brother's the same he's not into history and serious stuff like documentaries/biopics.
Some of my friends are like that too.
I told him straight up he probably won't enjoy it thought watching in imax the visuals and sound was amazing.
At the end of the day it wasn't a movie for people like him and yourself.

Inception/interstellar/Tenant aren't for a lot of people either, many won't understand the science and ideas behind or in them and that's ok.

Also IRL a bomb going off barley last a few seconds but it impact is devastating and Longlasting not just physically but in culture and thought too. That's one of the points of it.
Two bombs dropped in back then and yet even today it has an impact on the way we see things and do things and shape out future.

I despise online ticket transaction fees from cinemas. I can understand charging them back in the early 2000’s but the fact its still common practice, and you still have to go to the counter to collect your tickets.

    • Worth paying the booking fee if you try to make a counter booking on the day you will either get terrible seats or no seat at all

  • $1.50 per ticket of booking fee :)
