Had an apple watch but didnt like the oled and the battery life.

Looked into garmins or even xiaomi stuff at the cheaper end?

    • Im really looking into the xiaomi S1, Id rather a round watch that an apple watch style if that makes sense

      • If "without breaking the bank" then I'd rather look into Xiaomi Mi Band 8. (≈60 NZD, incl. delivery of course). If for the purpose mentioned above only — absolutely wonderful choice. Yeap, it's not round, an oval shape, but awesome value for the money. (Or have a look at Mi Band 8 Pro. Looks good to me too. ≈100 — 120 bucks on AliExpress.)

And no need to pay those crazy ≈300 — 320 bucks for S1. (Which would definitely crack my bank account 🏦… 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️)

In principle, there's a huge range of good watch nowadays by Garmin, Xiaomi and Huawei. But all of them are pretty expensive, to my mind. If you are really ready to say good bye to 300+ bucks, then these 3 brands are quite alright. No need to go elsewhere.

All you gotta do is to compare their specifications (and hell, there are bloody plenty of models by them🤦🏻‍♂️), to read feedbacks of the owners and to make up your mind. 😁 (Will be a painful decision, frankly. 😉)

        Cheers… 👋🏻

Redmi 3 - just bought one just for this, for the price its actually really good. Specials come up from time to time as well that make it ultra cheap - even the v2 version is good. The battery life is amazing (like 10 days) and the screen is really nice and clear - has quite a lot of features but I only use it for the ones you mention and of course as a watch.

Garmin instinct. Long battery life, solar charging. No touch screen so can use with gloves on. Robust.

I have had the original Instinct (non-solar) for around 5 years now. It doesn't have some bells and whistles that newer smartwatches do, but the thing is bombproof and the battery life is amazing. I still have full bars when my wife's touchscreen garmin is flat.

  • Apple watch se others are most accurate and offers most functions compared to anything in Android in Android Fitbit is better or more accurate then others

  • If you have access to Samsung EPP the watch 4/5 series is really good if you want things like google pay.
Else as suggested by other people Redmi watches are a good budget option
