So here’s a random one, they had rolled lamb shoulder on special last week.
Bought one over the weekend packed in a tray and shrink wrapped. Mad Butcher label on the front said packed 29th July and good to a date at the back end of August. Weight 950 grams.
Opened the shrink wrap tonight and it was also enclosed in another vac bag that appeared to be from the true supplier. This had a label on the back of the vac bag that said it was packed 12th July and to use by 11th August. Also with a weight of 1200 grams.
I didn’t spend too much time to interrogate it as, aside from being hungry and wanting to get the dinner on, no matter which label it was still in date. On reflection though I’m not sure if I’ve been conned over the differing expiry or had a result over the differing weight.
Either way, if you bought a rolled lamb shoulder from old mate last week it may pay to have a check of what you’ve got. Especially if from the Takanini branch.
