Surprisingly good price for this soundbar. I have last years version (990b) and I dont think it has been this low even with EPP discounts.

Delivery is $89 nationwide

@8:43: nvm, looks like their systems just took a while to propagate the changes. its back to 1798 now. im going to leave it expired

      I'm pretty happy with it.

      My old system was really really good
      Jade 7 fronts jade 5 rears jade 2c centre, svs sb13+ subwoofer and a pioneer sclx87 receiver. But it took up to much room and we had kids and a smaller lounge so it had to go. The old front speakers alone cost about 4x as much retail on the soundbar RRP.

      However I can say the dialogue on this is really clear I was using a cheaper stand in system and the dialogue was always difficult to make it but the q990c is close to perfect (I am using the dialogue enhance mode).

      I haven't tried the rear speakers yet BC I want to buy the md5402 speaker stands but I feel they are a bit expensive on Amazon ($230nzd delivered) and I'm trying to decide between those or cheap stands from pbtech for $50.

      I would recommend the soundbar.

      The only negatives for the soundbar:
      - doesn't have headphones out port
      - the display is difficult to read when you change modes etc
      - there is no child lock function for the buttons on the soundbar.
      - the power cords for the rear speakers are too short.
      - you can't individually control L/R channel levels
      - it doesn't support an eq/delay calibration function with an attached microphone. (It has soundfit mode which uses a microphone on the actual sound bar which is silly BC the listener is not sitting at the soundbar location).

        Wow, I'm impressed. Those svs subs are pretty good. That your only niggles relate to config flexibility and output options speaks volumes to the sound quality of the q990c.

        I think one of these might be on the table for me in the near future. Thank you for the concise and helpful mini review!
