  So, what's the vibe with a 20 or more hour stop in Fiji?

  Like that feels long enough for a resort night somewhere close by to Nadi. Likes of the Novotel, Club Fiji or Fiji Gateway etc.

    I think the longest I've found is just under 24 hours. As long as you have a NZ/Aus passport it's probably well worth a day relaxing by the pool. I've 'checked out' of the airport like that in Vilnius, Chicago, Lima and Buenos Aires - great way to get a taste of the country and decide if it's worth a longer stay another time.

      Do your checked bags stay with the airline throughout that period?

      Like if you pass through customs for the day are you limited to your carry on luggage?

        Yup, limited to carry on. So keep meds etc with you.
