Any Winners out There?!

Just wondering if anyone has won big (or small) from entering Cheapies comps?!

I won two cook books and was thrilled but still waiting for a phone call to say I've won an overseas holiday…..

So what have you won?

  • I won an Oodie recently!
It took a while to get the email with the voucher but otherwise, it was really good. I gave it to my daughter who could choose any Oodie on the website.

Best Cheapies win was an iPhone 13 (well, 99% off thanks to Click Frenzy NZ).

  • oh you can actually win stuff?
    always thought it's very unlikely

might have to actually start entering

I would say odds are 1 in 200+ these days but it gets quicker to enter when Chrome etc remembers specific form autofills. At best it's a below minwage effort unless you get really lucky.

Radio station prizes on their sites are better odds than you might think, often higher value too and local regions have extra coimps on their pages. Searching via google for "competition giftcard win June 2023 : .co.nz" or something can make it easier to find more obscure competitions that might not be well promoted.

I don't enter many these days but in the past decade my wins would be:

20k+ in prezzy cards/giftcards/fuel cards(I hunted for these comps as it's as good as cash)
3.5k engagement ring(melt+diamond value, iirc store price was like 8k+)
      3 Laptops(1-1.5k value each)
Various womens stuff(GHD's, hair and skin care, makeup etc) worth a few grand
High hundreds of random prizes(promo stuff like mugs/shirts/hats/food/softdrinks/books/dvd's/film passes)
Was a finalist for 3 radio stations 5k prize draws(1 of 9 finalists) but they always pick a sob story and I don't like to lie plus they always film/promote the winners
      HD Action Cameras/Go Pros/watches/consoles/games etc
I'm sure I've missed a bunch more good prizes, it was 4-5 years ago when I stopped

Easily 50k+ RRP of stuff but again near min wage for the time spent entering. Never had a huge win like travel or a car but know a few people that won 20k+ travel prizes and 1 car winner.

Often I would find a single instant win comp each year which I would get atleast 1-2k of prizes/profit from that alone. Coke gave me over 3k in prizes from one, Heinekin gave me 2k from another no purchase needed.

damn here I'm thinking winning a $100-$300 worth of stuff a year would be awesome

      • "Radio station prizes on their sites are better odds than you might think" if you actually get the prize! I won the "Turntable with speakers and Meteora Vinyl" from Hauraki on April 14th, filled in their form with my details, heard nothing for almost a month so contacted them, reply was "Thanks for getting in touch – I’ll case this up!", have contacted them twice more, nothing. I only got $50 of the $100 KFC voucher I won in 2021.

        • Beep them on FB - in a public comment - that should get their attention.

Sick prize. Get a Tool vinyl and chill out with some good tunes

        • I emailed again and included the "Programming /complaints" address, got a reply from that address quickly saying they're waiting for the vinyl to arrive from overseas. They could have said that earlier! and maybe shouldn't do a prize draw without the prize. Looking forward to it though.

Medik8 Mens CSA Philosophy kit (mens skin goop - nice)
Jar of fancy honey $90 (nice to have)
Fitbit Versa 3, Mini Drone, Portable Bluetooth speaker, Samsung Galaxy A32 5g Phone, (from Skinny Xmas comp last year)
    1Kg Licorice allsorts from RJ's

I usually enter a few comps each morning

    Oh and
$5000 on Lotto quite a few years ago
$3000 on Lotto about 10 years ago

Damn just one more number on either of those would have been a prize in the Millions !
Oh well Keep Calm and Carry On !!!

Every deal posted on Cheapies is a win.

For me, nothing big at all.
    Some vouchers for different businesses.
VIP and red carpet movie experiences.
    A year's worth of underwear.
And a few small cash prizes.

I stopped entering quite a few years ago. It took up far too much time vs payouts.

  • I won a box of kiddies baby food, bowl and cup accessories through Cheapies.

    I don’t have kids.

That my only win so far despite entering a lot.

  • I seemed to be on a book winning streak, won at least 4 kids books and 2 adult books I think, I doubt I'll read them. The kids books are great, especially Emma Twigg's inspirational journey to Olympic gold. They often just turn up without contact saying I've won.
Turntable with speakers and Meteora Vinyl from Hauraki
$3.50/L off from AA Smartfuel x2
Hamper from a radio station I don't listen to, included a $20 voucher for a shop at the airport
Kapiti Cookies & Cream ice cream packs (1 1L tub, 1 4 pack ice creams) from 2 New Worlds in Dunedin
Canvas photo of Ben Smith eating oats and some oat packs from Harroways
Oats, bag, tea towel from Harroways
12 packs of Tostitos from 'Have You Tried'
Crusaders Super Rugby pack from Hyundai - 4 scarves, hat, face masks, ball, puzzle, 6 pack coke zero, $50 kfc voucher
    2x Highlanders membership for 2022
    Highlanders double passes
Cuisine Magazine - 3 prizes: Silver Ferns Farms Porterhouse steak pack. $100(?) voucher for Pitches Store, Ophir. Box of Red Rock Deli chips
    Punch bowl from Toast Mag

    Nothing huge.
