Open Box Instead of New

So just picked up the Bose Soundbar 700 from this deal

Got come noticed the tape was weird like it was opened and found it was a customer return open box

Now nowhere on the invoice or payment screen did it say it was open box

idk if anyone's got the original email with the codes did it say on there by any chance?
Did anyone else who bought one also get open box?

    There’s no mention of “open box” or similar in the email. The T&C/small print in the email was:

    This coupon is unique and can only be used once, limited to 3 per transaction. Offer valid for online and instore transactions until the close of trade Sunday 4th June 2023, offer cannot be extended. Coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupon offer.     Take it back!
    I've had exactly the same with Harvey Norman and (new and expensive) noise cancelling headphones which I was giving as a gift, so was not happy with open box.
    I'm sure the sales staff are told to slip in open box when possible just to try and get rid of the item.
    In my opinion open box should be sold at a discounted/clearance price.

    When I returned them I had every excuse said to me as to how/why I had received an open box unit. After about 10 minutes and some frustration they were swapped out.

      Yeah I was thinking that but then the soundbar is EOL so it's no longer stocked in store or showing at bose online store.

      And because i got it at a discount idk if they'll be like "thats why we discounted it"

        A sound bar is potentially not a gross as open box headphones, so could be worth keeping if you're not able to get a NISB replacement, but they definitely shouldn't have sent out an open box without letting you know. I'd still hit them up about it.

          Through luck WLG City store had a return thats brand new unopened so they've put it aside for me to do a swap 👌

    Kinda shady
    Open box stuff is the hardest to move and can sit around for months.
    I see you got it from queensgate I got a decent deal on an open box item by just asking they must get a kickback for selling old stock

      Yeah totally,

      I saw the tape it looked weird but didn't pay attention enough coz I had to hurry to get elsewhere, but when I got home notice the small yellow sticker on the other end of the box, and was kinda peeved, but being EOL fi there wasn't any available I'd keep it still as the discount was substantial

      but got it replaced today no hassles, and person i spoke to said warranty will apply from exchange receipt so thats a bonus.

        Dunno how they handle their stock but for us open box and ex demo has to be sold from a different stock location.
        None the less at least they resolved it (it could have been human error and they just grabbed the first one they saw )

    PB tech always have open boxes because they swap out adapters for local ones. pretty annoying sometimes.
