Need Recommendation for Workshop/Leaf Blower & Drill/Driver Combo

Hi,

I have been looking for a wireless blower specifically for drying car and once in a while blowing leaves from garage. Not really looking for a leaf blower, but might use it on the driveway sometimes.

Background -> I have an old dewalt drill with 2mah battery, so currently not really tied to any brand. Also, looking for a drill & driver combo if any deals comes up. Dewalt is working for now, so not in a hurry, but going forward want to have tools from same brand (not necessarily dewalt) so that I can have same battery for all. My use case is mostly DIY home use, so not heavy use at all.

I have so far narrowed down to this, but open for recommendations.
* Ryobi ONE+ 18V Workshop Blower - $116
* Ryobi ONE+ 2 Piece 18V Combo Kit - $275
Total : $391

Any brand is fine, but they should be reliable and not expensive.

Budget : $150-$250 for blower, and around $250 for combo max. Less is better, but they should last for a while.

    $364 all up

    I run a bunch of the pxc stuff, good warranty and support. Had no questions when a charger and battery nuked themselves.
    i went with the brushless power tool stuff and it's held up for 3 years, built a new deck and a cabin with it.

  • I use the leaf blower for round the yard and it does a good job, dried the car before with it and it was okay.

    Links were for standard drill / driver (comparative to your ryobi link), brushless ones costs a bit more but might be worth it depending on use.

    • Looks like Ryobi blower(250km/hour max air speed) with 3 speed setting is more powerful then ozito(78Km/H Air speed)

  • Found This Bosch Blue combo

    Bosch Blue GBL 18V-120 Professional Blower - $117
    Bosch 12V 2.0Ah Combo Kit - $282
    REDEMPTION OFFER: The bonus redemption offer includes 1 x 1600A00X79 12V 3.0Ah Battery. Valid between 1/05/23 to 30/06/23.

    Total: $399

  • If you need something more powerful, youre probably better off going for one of these;

    vs 210km max vs 78km max

    Ive got the 18v one and its great for round home.

    FYI, I switched from Ryobi to Ozito purely because the Ryobi's didnt hold their charge when not in use. I can charge up an Ozito and then not use it for a month, and it still retains a significant amount.

    • I liked that one, but the only issue I have with it is long nozzle. Will have to check it out in store to see how it feels to hold. As for drying car, I will have to hold quite high.

      • I use it for drying the car, its not too bad. I looked again, and my one has a removal nozzle. This one may be better

        • Damn, double price for removable nozzle. Ouch

          Edit: Nevermind it comes with 4mah battery so the price

          • @ace310: Yep, first one I shared was skin only. Comparable unit with battery is $134 (so $55 difference)

  • Have you got a wet/dry shop vac? Super handy around the garage and most of them double as a blower. If you're not going to need it in the yard, far from mains power then perhaps this is a better option. You can get good ones for under $100 if you don't already have one, although I know this doesn't answer them question about drill/driver combos. For that I'd highly recommend the Ozito PXC brushless hammer drill/driver. I got this one recently on special for $99, but it seems to have gone up in price again:

    • Thanks. Prefer cordless in case I want to use it around house as do have lawns and trees on one side but never bothered cleaning as I get it done professionally. But didn't knew wet/dry vac can do as blower as well. Are they powerful enough to blow water?

        Definitely. They do at least as good job as most battery blowers, considering shop vacs are generally in the range of 1500-1800W. I've used mine to blow dry things, blow wet leaves, dust and debris off the driveway, inflate things. It is much more weight to lug around, but it definitely works well. Mine came with a crevice nozzle which further increases the blow pressure.

        I'm looking for a battery blower myself for the garden, but have been underwhelmed by the apparent performance of most of the cheaper ones. It seems if you get 36V+, you get better performance, but like battery powered vacuums they don't last long on high.

    I can't speak for the quality now, but I have that version of the Ryobi drill and driver set from over 10 years ago. I think my batteries might be smaller though. I've never had an issue. They've been banged around a bit, used in the garden and what not. Batteries still seem pretty decent and hold their charge.
