Supie cancelled orders

So I did the order for Supie for the deal which came here on Cheapies (https://www.cheapies.nz/node/40782). As many commentators mentioned, they cancelled the deal.

I still had a $20 credit from Supie and decided to order their no waste Bundles for milk and bread to be delivered on Saturday last week. This morning I get an email saying the deal has can cancelled. I don't understand their logistics. If you don't have something in stock, why are you letting people order it. The roast vegetables were also cancelled for many people but that was due to the terms of the deal.

I have done the no waste milk deals from Teddy and they have never cancelled an order.

  • Using my knowledge from Countdown OL,
Customers are allowed to place an order with that product as long as the Stock on hand is showing more than 1, so if multiple people order the same item the night before and then in the morning they find there is only 1 left on the shelf, stock on hand for countdown is only adjusted to 0 after that order has been completed. This means that everyone else who placed an order misses out on the product.

We also had placed a supie order (the day after the deal had been posted, so we missed out of the free pack) and they cancelled our frozen milk as there was no stock

however I did notice that on their website it was still showing as avaliable to order.

    • They really should fix it that if someone orders then thier stock counter goes down, like Tech places and other retailers do so.

I couldn't even get the $20 voucher to appear myself, let alone place an order to be cancelled.

Think I'll stick with New World / Countdown for now - maybe look at Supie again in a few years time if they are still around, as I don't think they really have things setup at all well yet.

Yeah, I used the referral normally, my entire Supie order was canceled (this is after the roast vege pack incident), $120+ order.
5 days later, I still do not have a refund on my credit card.

I don't think Sarah Balle has any idea on how to run a business, any I would likely guess Supie is going to go under sometime soon ?

My bread suppose to be delivered yesterday. My partner had to wait at home yesterday for the entire afternoon for the delivery, but nothing came. This is totally unacceptable.

It’s more like a scam tbh. Emailed saying no items in stock. No refunds actioned yet. I only spent over $0.50 on amex. Rest in supie cash.

Is it normal for a company to ask you to remove your Google review? Supie asked me to remove mine via email.

    • +1

They can ask - its not entirely uncommon.

Most places probably just respond to your review, especially if the review comes across as being a bit ridiculous (not saying yours is at all).

On the other hand, if your review is fair and polite (which yours probably was), then they will be more likely to ask you to remove it, as it will likely be more persuasive to others, and therefore generate a more negative outcome for the business.

If the service is poor than it's fair to expect bad reviews coming through. It's fair to say public need to know the facts

        • +1

Of course - what else would you expect?

        • I would agree - I am all for new locally owned businesses. They really had a shot at changing things.
The tone of the email came across like I was a "bad cheapie" guy and not a customer, and didn't even offer any form of apology.

It was also apparent they were not going to change or address any of the ongoing concerns and issues that have been plaguing other Supie customers.

It's a shame really, there is no way I am going to remove my review, the damage is already done.

            @dekodE: Good on ya!

          • @dekodE: They responded to the recent one star reviews with a bunch of identical cut and pasted comments:

            thanks for your feedback.

We have received a number of orders over the past two weeks that appear to not be genuine, including orders that didn’t meet the terms and conditions of use, and orders for groceries that weren’t paid for. We apologise if your order was in fact genuine and was caught up within this issue – we would encourage you to place a new order and experience NZ’s freshest fruit and vegetables delivered direct to your door.

As a start-up Kiwi business, we’re doing our absolute best to provide an alternative to the supermarket duopoly and provide access to healthy, affordable food for all Kiwis. We’ve delivered tens of thousands of orders and in the process, support hundreds of NZ food producers and growers.

We’re a small team of passionate Kiwis with big ambitions to make a true impact. We will keep improving every day and appreciate all the Kiwis who support Supie on our journey to making a difference in fixing the broken grocery system in NZ.

I personally think everyone should put up a review reflecting the service they received from Supie. This company really need a kick up in their a**
