Where to Purchase Car Parts?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where to purchase car parts other than the standard Repco/Supercheap?
Are there decent and affordable overseas sites that ship to NZ etc?
At this stage i’m looking specifically for brake pads and rotors but would be handy to know for future reference also.
Thanks!

  • I have used Rock Auto Twice to buy iridium spark plugs. Repco wants $65 each for them . Rock Auto….NZ$98 for 4 incl delivery cost, ( I think from memory the actual price was NZ$15 each). The last ones ordered 23 March, arrived 29 March. Excellent service. I'm quite disgusted by the profit margins many NZ retailers squeeze the poor paying public with .

    • Wow, just checked the price of some spark plugs I got from repco the other week, over $200 from repco for 4, rock auto didn't have 4 in stock but the total including delivery would have been half of that. Wow.

    • Yep, almost all retailers are doing that, but only the supermarkets are targeted. Many consumers don't bother to compare prices, they want it and want it now, so they just pay.

  • Ohh good thread!

Have bought quite a bit of braking gear from them as well as a full suspension strut kit, UK based but will give NZ prices, shipping used to be really good but everywhere seems to have gone up lately.
For CV joints for euros I usually find the SKF part number and get them off eBay, often from UK or Central Europe, all been high quality genuine parts so far.
