[Pre-Order] The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom A$69 + Delivery @ Mighty Ape AU

170

Seems like a good price for this at about $80 including delivery and converted to nzd if you have a method to spend Aussie dollarydoos.

My understanding is mighty ape Australia still ships from their Auckland warehouse but at Australian pricing and in the past I have had preorders arrive on launch day. The only down side is primate members can't use their free shipping on this.

  • Can confirm this works, I preordered months ago and used a $5 voucher (mightyape send a "we haven't seen you in a while! Here's $5 off your next order" email occasionally). Somehow I didn't pay for shipping - they must've had a promo going at the time I preordered (something else to look out for). Ended up way cheaper than preordering anywhere else. I always order through the Australian site, and if you live in Christchurch they ship from the chch warehouse and arrive overnight

    • Didn't know mighty ape had a Christchurch warehouse, good to know for future reference. I guess anything listed as available to deliver vie jingle express at a Christchurch address is in stock down here so should come faster via standard post too.

      • They do not have a warehouse down here. The Jungle Express stuff is sent via a plane from Auckland on the day. The drivers pick up from the airport.

can we talk about how the game got leaked?

  • Preordered! But not sure if I can get delivered next Friday(I'm at Auckland)😓

I love a good Zelda game and this is a good deal but it's getting harder every year that goes by to just accept the year 1995 textures and sub 30fps AAA games Nintendo has been putting out.

Might wait to see how performance is after the day one patch.

    • +1

The 1.1.0 patch fixed few performance issue and runs quite well. 30fps of course but Nintendo never cares that since they can make games that no one can.

      • Nice thanks, I can probably manage a stable 30 for a Zelda game.

Interesting how new release games in Australia are $69AUD RRP but in NZ it’s $109NZD RRP. Thats a huge difference…

    • Even more so when it's sold by an NZ company, shipped from an NZ warehouse to an NZ address for $20 less than the same retailer sells it locally using the exact same infrastructure.

      • NZ warehouse yes… but not anymore a NZ company. sold out to kogan.

          I never knew
"On 2 December 2020, Mighty Ape was acquired by Australian retail and insurance company Kogan.com for A$122.4 million."

shows up as $77 AUD, $83 NZD to me

  • If you don't mind a digital copy, can always just buy the two Nintendo vouchers for $144 or something like that and redeem one for Zelda.. At least that way, can share it with others with a linked console.

  • anyone got order being cancelled?

Out of curiousity I submitted a pricematch on mightyape.co.nz against the mightyape.com.au product. Lets see what happens.

    • +1

They rejected it and offered it for $95.00

      • +2

Haha what a load of s**t

      • Funny because I ordered Mighty Ape Aus for the above price, still got shipped from Auckland and arrived on release day

  • Well mines on the way, let's see if NZ post can get it from Auckland to Christchurch overnight, I'm not optimistic.
