This is another one of those items that is cheaper on The Market if you are wanting it delivered.

Unit price is the same ($949) but with a cheaper bulky shipping charge at $63.
Combine with the $20 referral coupon and it comes to $992 delivered.
Requires MarketClub+ membership and C&C not available.

  • Bunnings one comes with a 7 year warranty, this one only has 2 years.

    • Cga?

But warehouse aren't exactly gems for dealing with that.

      • CGA 6 years old washing machine for 1k? Doubt it.

        • In my time at NL I saw a guy get a replacement for a ~$900 Sony tv after 5 years… After Sony had offered to compensate some of the cost so ymmv.

But yeah, I think depending on the fault 6 years is probably the upper limit for this machine

  • 1135 on basic powerpass card for the Bunnings one

I have heard some really shitty stories re combined ones… eg very average at both things.

On a sidenote recently purchased a heat pump dryer (Cheap one) and it is absolutely fantastic.

In my experience, people who say that they're average at both things just aren't following instructions properly.

They're packing the machine to the max, often following the washing limit (10kg) and not the drying limit (6kg). This results in the machine not being able to dry properly, taking absolutely forever and still not fully drying.

I've used a combo myself for the last 8 years and found it very convenient as you can set and forget. No need to transfer wet clothes from one machine to another.

Of course, if you're a big family with multiple loads per day, the throughput is less than 2 separate machines. But if you're just 1 or 2 people, a combo is fine!

      • I agree, we have a tiny laundry in our rental and could only fit a combo, I was dreading it a bit after reading reviews but yea if used properly we’ve been happy with it!

My biggest gripe is that can’t seem to run the dryer without it doing a spin cycle first, so even if it’s washing that’s been on the line all day and just needs a final blast you have to wait this out. But I guess it makes sense to stop people trying to put stuff straight to dry that’s far too wet for a condenser and then it really would take forever

        • What brand/model is it? Mine is Samsung and I can dry in isolation.

Sometimes you just need to press or hold a button to skip a certain part of a cycle. E.g, on the surface level, my machine can't spin in isolation, but if you select Rinse+Spin, you can hold down the Spin button button and the rinse options get cycled through to "no rinse" and that's how I do a spin only

      • Eh, not really. They are just not particularly good dryers. Its an engineering challenge more than anything else. They are just not good at what they do.

Ive owned a washer dryer and asked some of the engineers at f&p about it and they say no one has cracked it yet.
These days we have a dedicated heat pump dryer and it drys x5 time faster than the combo we had (which was a good model). If anyone is interested a heat pump is the best, then vented, then condenser and lastly a combo.

        • These are a space-saver solution for shoebox apartments, where the only alternative is airing your laundry, or the laundromat. Probably more common in Asia than in NZ, where even if space is tight you can probably still stack the dryer on top of the washing machine.

Heat pump dryers are for those who wash often and values the time & electricity saved over the substantial extra cost of the machine. For most a vented dryer is the value choice.

    • What heat pump dryer do you have?

    • I don't see any mention of a warranty on this one.
