I have a friend who bought this set for near $1000 complete second hand a couple of years ago. I feel like there will always be demand for it, so at this price I doubt you'd lose in the long (or short) term. Plus the bonus of opening the Box and being the first person to fiddle around with the bricks. Also consider the space you need to build and store it and the potential slap upside the head from the wife when she finds out what you paid. A hard set to hide.
