  Competitions are a volume game, like 1 in 200 odds or worse as it's got alot more competitive with covid and the economy. On the otherhand sometimes you manage to find a comp hardly anyone finds and the odds are amazing(ie I won a $2500 diamond ring which only had 2 valid entries(had to buy a new companies prepaid courier bag and send something to qualify)).
  
  Comping is much more popular in AUS, whole communities based around it
  https://lottos.com.au/ - paid forum membership but it was worth it if you lived in AUS. Certain AU states also have more favourable competition law to let you win more than 1 prize when terms usually put a limit on that. A few people there have won 3+ cars lol.
  
  For the time you might spend doing it it's less than minimum wage return(plus the stuff you win and don't want your selling well under retail price as compettion wins don't have warranty either unless the company is nice). On the other hand all it takes is 1 big win and plenty of people think they will never win the car etc so they don't enter.

    On top of that, there are plenty of NZ competition websites with strong followings. Off the top of my head: winstuff, competitions.co.nz, contest.co.nz + a plethora of Facebook groups.
