Anyway to get an Australian mobile number especially via eSim? I need it for creating a JBhifi account with perks. Got to order something for pickup, my friend to visiting AU tomorrow.

I saw optus providing 7 day trial for esim. Somehow my passport identity verification is failing so can't go past that step.

Fyi: He can buy it directly from store, but if possible can get some discount with perks account.

I had a similar problem trying activate with vodafone over there last month. If you doing it on a mobile device try a computer or different browser.

fyi you can activate with Optus but you must be in the country for the passport verification to work
Belong sims dont have a ID check but you have to get the card from Amazon.

        @ace310: NZ passport holders get issued a SCV on arrival, so you still get a visa.

        @0o0: I had exactly this for something else last week. As they scan your passport on entry and exit - they know if you there and NZ'ers lose their visa when they leave and get it back when they return. So any system which checks your NZ passport - you have to be actually in AU to use even if you live there.
