2Degrees - How to tell last time prepay was topped up (more than 90 days ago)

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to find out the last time a 2Degrees Prepay account was topped up if it was more than 90 days ago (which appears to be the limit of history on their website)?

We have a spare number used by visiting friends and family from overseas. It would be convenient to keep the number, which requires at least one top-up every 365 days, but we aren't sure last time it was done. I could just add $10 now, but I'd rather time it to be a week, say, before the number expires if I can.

Thanks,

Alan.

  • Guess you don’t know who used it last?

    • I know who it was and when they were here, but I don't know if I topped it up for them at the time (I usually do the top-ups myself for my guests). Often guests don't even incur any call charges - they just flash call me (say), and I call them back.

  • You can check when your prepay credit expires by logging in online or through the app. This date shows for me when I login and click top-up on the website. I think the expiry date is exactly one year after the last top-up.

"The minimum top up amount is $10. When you top up, your Prepay credit is valid for 365 days from that date."

    • Online: i logged in and clicked on 'Top Up', but nothing is showing as to when the last top-up was. It is 365 days since the last top-up, but that doesn't help without knowing the last top-up date.

Where in the app are you seeing it?

      • On the 2D website.

try here after logging in. (Not on a mobile device?)

        • Hi,

I must be missing something obvious (not unusual!)

This is what I see on that page:

          https://ibb.co/KGwkhyP

Is it there but I am not seeing it?

          Thanks,

          Alan.

          • @Alan6984: The credit expiry date is shown on the top up page - the one you get to by clicking the "top up" button shown in your screenshot. It's in light grey text below the balance, and will say something like "$9.80 will expire on 30 Mar 2023".

That text won't be there if your credit has already expired. It may also disappear if you don't have any credit, but I haven't experienced that myself.

According to the prepay terms, your account "will automatically terminate if you [don't top-up] within 365 days of […] your last payment of $20 or more". However, IME a $10 top-up is sufficient, and there is a grace period of 30-45 days before they actually terminate.

            • @Detruire: Okay - so given the credit is currently zero, sounds like there is no way to find out when that 365-day (or 365+ day) timer will expire I guess.

  • The other way is to just ring them and ask.
As long as you have plenty of time to spare waiting on hold.

    • +1

My soul shrivels at the thought of calling 2Degrees.

I'd rather lose the number and start again :-)
