  • This is highly annoying as I have just changed my platinum card from Kiwibank to ANZ in the past couple of weeks when Kiwibank changed their benefits. Do you think they would revert if enough customers revolted?? How many people complained before ASB reversed their reduced benefits late last year?

    • Also signed up in December. It was 3hrs of rediculous interviews. ANZ adjusted their other cards after the credit card fees changes last year. The 20 days prior notification and the removal of status points. I'd be happy to have no airpoints and only status points.

  • No more Koru eVouchers. This was one of the benefits I thought made the reward system worthwhile.

  • Also for the ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum, from an email a mate got, "ANZ and Air NZ will provide the primary account holder with a one off allocation of 2 lounge evouchers (valid until 30 Nov 2023) per ANZ Airports Visa Platinum account."
Pretty sweet, Kiwibank gave us nothing when they did their changes.
Air NZ extended the expiry on one our ours so we can use 3 in February, so it's worth asking for an extension if needed.

  • If AMEX do a $500 bonus airpoints promotion, then I'd definitely switch over from ANZ. I'm tempted with the current $300 one now though.

    • I just found Amex (in the past be interested in current day) so difficult, so many places dont accept it at all meaning you always needed an alternativbe, some that do take it whack you with a surcharge bigger than the alternatives - i have seen as high as 5%+ and then some places dont care, seems very little rhyme or reason on who - so it was just more annoying than anything else. I imagine that varies based on what you use the card for , but for me it just wasnt worth it

      • the big shops do take them: thewarehouse, harveynorman, countdown, paknsave, most petrol stations. I used mine on those big shops only and online shopping if they take Amex.

  • Hope AMEX does not change their offers.

    It's currently 1 for every $59 spent.

Get around 80 airpoints a month with it at the moment. Most major places take it fine, the only place I find hit and miss is the smaller cafes etc.

    • From my understanding Amex aren't affected by the interchange fee limit so I can't see a reason why they'll reduce their rewards. I imagine if anything they'll pick up more customers.

  • The 50% status point boost is pretty good!

You don’t even have to use the card!
