  • You're currently unable to use discounts when purchasing Sharetank fuel (Pumped, Flybuys or otherwise).
  • You're currently unable to spoof your location to hunt for the cheapest fuel (this includes rooted phones, spoofed GPS as well as phones that are charging).
  • You do earn Flybuys or Airpoints when purchasing Sharetank fuel.
  • You can use Sharetank to "pay" for fuel anywhere in the country (i.e. buy in Auckland, use it in Tauranga)

    • Thank you! Thought I got all of them, but alas

Still not understanding why people are so caught up on todays price vs tomorrows.

TOP UP the sharetank… if the market drops, pay retail… if it goes up use the sharetank. Simple math.

    • +2

Because tomorrows price comes with free litres!! Which in turn, makes it less than todays price \o/

I jest, but yes top up when you can afford to.

    • Sharetank only worth it when you're loading up when prices are actually cheap. Otherwise fill up on 10c Wednesdays (at Caltex Newton in central Auckland!). E.g. I topped up when 91 2.189 and 95 2.349, still reaping the rewards.

Fair play. I also don't like the fact that minimum top up is 150L, and for only 5L at that.

  • What would be the cheapest price nationwide as of now?

    • +1

Looks like Z Pukete is $2.259 for 91, $2.419 for 95 & 2.199 for diesel. So Hamilton at the moment

      • How do you find that information out? Like how do you search the price of fuel at gas stations across new zealand?

        • +1

          Gaspy App I think

        • As @cheekiecheapo mentioned, Gaspy set to 100KM range from my location, Hamilton happens to fall into that range but unfortunately not close enough to buy from those stations :(

  • +1

Sounds like there'll be a price drop tomorrow!

    • That would be great! We need more cheapies ShareTank users :(

  • Could you add to the FAQ - "Where do I physically need to be to make the purchase", please?

    Thanks

    • While it is perhaps not in the same section, there is a note above the FAQ's called:

*What you need to know about Sharetank
      • Buy up to 1000L of your chosen fuel type at the lowest Z pump price within 30km of your location

That particular FAQ section was made specifically from cheapies questions, vs ShareTanks FAQ's that can be found online: http://help.sharetank.co.nz/en/

      • Thank you. Does that mean I have to be within 30km of the station when I make the purchase I have to visit the station at some point?

        • Np. And nope, you can use the purchased ShareTank fuel at any Z station in NZ regardless. The 30KM radius is how the price is determined when you buy. Hence people closer to Hamilton will benefit this time around.

Anyone at Hamilton doesn't mind spending 5 mins to help an Aucklander getting cheap fuel? PM me if you can help 😁 THX🙏
We can do it with method mentioned here
