  Indeed, although I've been three times, July, August and October. July and August were very humid, but I still had an amazing time (and I don't like the heat that much).

Booked Japan mid-April to mid-May on AirNZ non-stop for $1,450pp.

Not flying Jetstar is, without a doubt, worth $400.

Also Jetstar prices don't include checked luggage, so hope you can survive on 7kg of stuff. If you want to add luggage, it'll be another $350+. At which point it's $50 difference.

In fact the first link in the deal for Jetstar pegs Air NZ at $1311 and includes luggage, so Air NZ is actually cheaper than JetStar for the same service. Although you click the book AirNZ button and it takes you to the JetStar flight so who knows what's happening there.

  Agreed. A lot of times the cheaper flights don't really turn out to be cheaper when you account for baggage. The more expensive flights usually cover baggage, food, better hours and even possibly light entertainment.
  
  I don't see the point with Jetstar in this instance. Others, sure. This, nah.
