Roof box - Car

Hey guys,

I’m looking at getting a roof box this summer so we have some extra room for luggage in the car. Any ideas where to get one at a reasonable price?

    TradeMe. I always think "wow, they'd be handy" and then look at the retail prices and slowly cry myself to sleep.

    Some good deals can be had on TradeMe though when I look every now and then.
    Especially if you're a little bit handy, there are some with the odd crack (going a bit cheaper) which could be fixed up with a bit of fibreglass.

      Yeah, they're just streamlined, impact-resistant plastic boxes. How hard can they be to make? Same for roof racks.

    Second the suggestion for TradeMe. Got our thule one there a couple years back - still expensive, but hugely worth it for loading up all the family camping kit

    Facebook marketplace is where I got mine. They do cause extra drag on the car so you will use more fuel.

    The yakima easytrip is a reasonable price and good quality from torpedo7. $849 with 10% off with an AA membership. Unlike most items on T7, Yakima products are hardly ever discounted.

    I got a large Thule one in fantastic nick for $420 on trademe. So like others above, that's where I suggest. Also, you won't regret it, they're so handy

    There are also cheap nylon roof cargo bags you can find on AliExpress. I wouldn't go too fast with it though.
