Was looking for a pair of gaming headphones that would work well with simultaneously pairing with PC + PS5 and this came up. It does bluetooth + dongle at the same time so you can discord on the phone/PC while playing on the ps5.
The h9 apparently is Sony's flagship gaming headset.
$249 is the cheapest it's been according to pricespy.
Reviews have been mixed, but for that price I've decided to give it a shot and ordered 1.
I personally wouldn't be taking these out on the street, that is what the sony XMs are for.
Ive read that these are a lot more comfortable over the pulse 3D, better sounding and yes that better mic. It doesn't measure up well against other high end gaming headsets like the arctis nova pro but thats like 3x the price. These are all according to reviews though. Some people have great experiences, some didnt.
Only took the plunge cause of that price!
I think the point of making them dedicated to gaming is, so it doesn't compete with their audio offerings.
And as much as I love Sennheiser, their consumer brand was losing a lot of money, so they had to sell it off.

I wouldn't touch these at full price but at this price they might be worth a punt, still hard to go past the Pulse 3D for $130 though unless you desperately need ANC or want a better mic. Weird that they didn't make the mic removable for these as I could see some people using them for listening to music on the street if you could leave the mic boom at home.
Would be great if Sony could make a gaming headset that's as good as their XM headphone series, Sennheiser does it, they make some amazing gaming headsets, why can't Sony?
