My daughter's school wants a BYOD with a battery charge that lasts 6 hours. Can anyone recommend a good device from experience? Here are their minimum required specs:
10-13” screen or larger, possibly touchscreen with digital stylus is recommended
4-8GB RAM (memory)
minimum 128GB of SSD (Solid State Storage)
Wi-Fi enabled to standards 802.11 a/c
1-3 USB ports

Definitely go at least 8GB RAM. 4 is not enough these days, especially if she's going to do digital media studies or similar.
I personally like Asus, they make good hardware. One of these might be suitable:
