NZ Depot Review - Is It Legit and Good Store

Hi Beautiful people,

has anyone experienced NZ Depot? if someone has then please explain what kind of product the approx price of the product is, has anyone visited their store?

I need to install one air conditioner. And I checked with them, their installer called me on the phone and asked me to send pictures, and then they gave me the price for the full installation. The price is quite reasonable.
I want to accept the price but thought to cross-check if they are Legit and good store or not.
I searched on google and FB.

Found a few interesting facts.

  1. on FB-> the link is "https://www.facebook.com/nzdepot2"

Suspicious things- 1. their name is nzdepot2 in the link
2. they have only 46 likes but 10k followers which is quite hard to believe. So 100% dodgy-bought followers. (robot script followers), they post every hour and their post has no likes.
3. No reviews.
4. They kept the mobile numbers in the review but no land like the number 0800 number.

  2. They have only 4 reviews. all are 1 year old, how can no one has done any further review?

  3. They have done quite a presale service, they answered all my queries. Once I said I am ok with the price and happy with the quote then they sent me the invoice and also asked me to review their google and FB. So they ask and have a huge product range but no any recent review.

  1. When I checked their address. 134 Rangitoto Road, Papatoetoe, it does not look like a warehouse address or office space address, it looks like a residential address.

I think it would be great if people can update this thread and give more insight.

    I’ve never heard of them.
    Regardless, everything you have listed above screams of ‘Don’t go there’.
    I would just save your money and go elsewhere.
    Better to spend a bit more and get it done properly than save some money now and regret it later.

    This seems to be a one man band - nothing unusual for online shop - but definitely doesn't have the reputation of an long established company, thus the risks with it. The address is his personal home address…

    I bought my heatpumps from them about 1.5 years ago - they were probably $300 or so a unit cheaper than elsewhere and my builder said he couldn't get similar prices from his supplier, so I jumped at the cost saving considering I needed 4 of them.
    I was a bit skeptical at first - like you said, no reviews, website is a bit weird but it was a good transaction in the end. I didn't get them to do installation and I picked them up from them myself. They said they had a warehouse at first, but I just ended up picking them up from the guys house and was an easy transaction.

    Actually, I also spoke with NZ depot (owner), and he looks quite a nice guy. He has explained to him that he is not a reseller yet but he is an authorized Diakin installer.
    I think I am going to take a risk and will buy from him, I will pay him tomorrow and will share my experience about the service which I am going to receive from him. I am quite positive after talking to him and reading Vish's reply.

    An installer came over last year for a quote and their prices were the cheapest;
    however I tried multiple times to get a booking and they never replied! Take my money! :')
    Hah guess being a non standard install they didn't want to take the job on?

    Despite the points you have mentioned, My experience with nz depot are pretty good. They got good deals out of all the quotations i have received from different suppliers. they did all my rentals supply and install from. technicians are quite professionals and experienced.

    Once i had a little delay in the delivery of a heat pump but it's probably from the Daikin-mainfreight arrangements.

    Firstly i was confused when i went through their Daikin product page and the price was hidden, I contacted their chat support and they gave me a password to view the pricing and then it was all smooth.
