    Minimum plan is $60pm
Over 36 months that is $2160

Assuming most cheapies are on either the Kogan plan, or something like a cheap Skinny or Vodafone Prepay Flex option but lets say worst case you are spending $40 per month

    $60 - $40 = $20 extra per month * 36 months = $720 extra on your plan over 3 years + $135 for the handset

$720 + $135 = $855 you have effectivly paid for the handset assuming you pay $40 per month for your plan now.

At that point, its $85 cheaper to simply get a new one from PB Tech for only $768.96

YMMV based on what you spend, but at $45 monthly spend, it might make sense for some people, but I'd recommend a used or refurbished iPhone and better vaule phone plan with no contract over this deal. 3 years is a long time for new phone plans to offer better vaule

    • Yeah, personally I agree that the iPhone 11 deal isn’t that great.

In my opinion the S22 deal is a steal, yes you need to be on the $80 plan but for that you’re getting unlimited data (it’s not throttled after a certain threshold). Put another way, if you’re currently spending $50ish per month and in the market for an Android flagship, then this deal is effectively giving you a free upgrade to unlimited data.

Sure, but one assumption you're making is an s22 is worth full retail, 9 months old @ $1299, too. The next is you're actually benefitting from going from 12/20GB to unlimited. There's also a fair amount of issues with the s22 / +.

All whilst being locked in for 36 mo.

You can get an s22 ultra for $1499 on Samsung Edu store if you have access to anyone whose been in uni in the past few years, and its a much better phone. S23's will be out in <4 months, too.
