AMC+ Video on Demand - Free 7-day Trial + 28% off First Month or Year Subscription

First time deal post (I think) so go easy… Advance apologies for any title/posting etiquette faux pas - please let me know and I’ll amend.

AMC+ recently launched their streaming service AUNZ service.

They’re offering a free 7-day trial with the now fairly standard choice between a pay-as-you-go monthly option (NZD$9.99) or an up-front annual option (NZD$99.99) which represents a 20% saving on monthly PAYG.

Entering the promo INTERVIEWPLUS applies a further (rather random looking) 28.61% discount off whichever subscription option you choose - so $9.99 becomes $7.13 for the first month, or $95.88 becomes $68.45 for the first year.

Info from their website on the service:

Award-winning dramas, heart-stopping thrillers, and epic movies – AMC+ is your destination for genre-defying storytelling. Try free for 7 days then 9.99 NZD per month.

AMC+ subscription includes full access to Acorn TV and Shudder.

AMC+ is a bundle that includes all the benefits of AMC Premiere plus much more: the premier collections of Shudder, Sundance Now, IFC Films Unlimited— plus exclusive series and Ad Free access to acclaimed shows from AMC, BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV.

Also, this is your second post OP 😄

    • +2

First time since the last one 😊

      • The old memory isn’t what it used to be… after I had posted (and edited/amended some overlooked typos etc.) I clicked on my profile to check… had a feeling I’d posted once before and not that long ago, but couldn’t quite recall one way or the other…

Is that title I used OK? How would you have written it?

Just cancelled my Trial Sub to re-sub with discount, thanks OP.

Limited shows, limited video quality & Android TV app is a dud. Android & iOS are fine.

  • +2

I won't mind getting most or even all streaming if there's Turkey or Argentina work around. Otherwise its Jack Sparrow for me.

I have seen the AMC+ annual subscription from India for INR 349. If you've vpn that would be the way to go!
Edit: Note this is available as an addon for Amazon prime indian subscription. I have paid $30nzd for it's annual subscription. With vpn can access indian content & without vpn can access content available in NZ

That’s too much admin and potential content filtration for me on an IN prime subscription from which I’ll get no other useful value. Paying the equivalent of $5.71 per month for a full year’s bonafide access to a broad-spectrum content provider’s subscription is a no-brainer for me. Interview with The Vampire and The Walking Dead just on their own will be worth that for me (I’ve never watch TWD but want to) so shut up and take my money AMC.

Not keen on Breaking Bhad? The episode-frequency slow-mo explosions and flipping cars are excellent.

        • Actually not! I’ve tried it several times over the years, but I’ve yet to get past season 3. I find that I really just don’t care what happens to Walter. I didn’t find the the character’s sad, misfortunate Everyman side either relatable or sympathy-inducing, nor the anti-hero with nothing to lose side compelling or even particularly interesting. Good writing dialogue-wise, great acting (Cranston is in a league of his own in everything he does) but I mostly just felt bored watching it and couldn’t bring myself to power through just in case it suddenly got better.

          ….aaaaaand I just got this… 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hey, thanks for this. Just signed up for the trial and the acorn tv + shudder is looks brilliant.

  • +1

Thanks OP copped this. Worth it for the shudder sub alone for me.

  • Is it 4K or 1080 streaming ?

    • +1

Definitely not 4K. Looks to me to be between 720 and 1080 at best. I’m streaming through the NVidia Shield Pro though which does a pretty decent job of AI upscaling the source on my 65” OLED. No complaints from me but don’t expect too much.

      • Nvidia Shield Pro(I have the Nvidia Shield 2017) having no loading issue?. I just get the constant green loading symbol where as Win10/Android phones play just fine.

        • +1

2019 pro no issues at all

  • +1

Thank you OP, sub purchased, Acorn for the missus and Slasher for me

    • You’re welcome! Some decent UK fare on Acorn!

  • Anyone got the AMC+ app on a Fire TV device? I can get it on a browser and AppleTV but not our Firestick or Fire Cube, cheers

  • Any idea how to access the acorn content? I see BBC America but like how shudder has its own category I don’t see anything like that for acorn or am I missing something?

Just got charged at the full rate of $95.88 today. Entered the promo code at the time, seemed to work but after my trial the charge went through at full price

    • Contacted support and got the following reply:

      AMC + <[email protected]>

We are so glad you’re sticking with us! We have adjusted your account so that this offer is now reflected.

Refunds or adjustments will be reflected in your bank account within 5-10 business days. Enjoy, and keep in touch if you’d like recommendations on what to watch next! We’re happy to help.

      • Same scenario for me (and presumably anyone who applied this code). I’ve also emailed them to resolve. Good to see that they’ve already responded so quickly and affirmatively to your request at least.

      • And they've already credited my card. Quick service!

    • Same thing just happened to me - will be sending them an email now!

    • Same here, they tried to charge my Wise Debit card the full amount. Will contact them in the morning.

  • Got an email back from AMC, they don’t have an app for Amazon devices in NZ, they’re looking in to it:

    Hi Paul,

We do apologize for the inconvenience.

At this time AMC+ is not available on Fire TVs in New Zealand. We are always working on becoming compatible with all devices so this may change in the future.
